I made my acc a week and a half ago, was getting some vids with 10k+ views, now I have only been getting anywhere from 100-1500 views, what's going on? im posting slightly better content.

Keep creating good video content. Not all videos go viral, some may do 100, some other may reach a milion view
if your content doesn't break any rule, there is no reason for a shadow ban

You are not, the issue is from quality of the video you post. If video quality is there, you will surely get high engagement.

Does 'better content' mean it's just your personal evaluation? For users or algorithms, it might not actually be better. Sometimes we think something is good, but others may not bro

That’s normal — new accounts often get an early boost, then reach their “real” baseline. Keep posting consistently, test formats/times, and focus on engagement.

That's just Meta's way of hooking you into their shorts ecosystem.
All my Instgram accounts had the same pattern of great viral content on first few days followed by dropping views.

Instagram pushes your initial content to see if you get good engagement. If you do, they'll keep up the reach. Looks like you got a lot of views but not a lot of likes and comments.
Keep posting, 1500 views is not bad for a 10 days old account.

Continue posting the algorithm always has ways of boosting your content before you know it

Go to the account settings and click "Account Status". In that section, Instagram will show you if you got any violations. If so, just follow the instructions on the screen and the account should be fine within 1 week.
