Has anyone successfully verified an Instagram business page when the page’s name is different from the legal entity name?

For more context, a food establishment has the commercial/brand name (the one customers see on Instagram and on site) is different from the official legal entity name registered with the government. When applying for verification, Meta requires the page name to match the legal entity name, or for there to be a direct connection between them.:

For many businesses, the brand name is intentionally different from the legal company name. Changing the Instagram page name to match the entity would hurt the branding, but Meta doesn’t seem to recognize this distinction.

  • Has anyone found a way to verify pages under these circumstances
  • Are there accepted ways to prove the connection between a legal entity and a brand name (e.g., trade name registrations, utility bills, websites, press articles)?
  • Any tips or workarounds that worked for anyone?

Thanks

Hello, you can now get a blue tick on all accounts. Previously, you could only get it on personal accounts. Now, you can get it on all of them. It doesn't require identity verification.

You can verify if you provide documentation that proves the connection between the legal name and the brand name (e.g. trademark registration, website, newspaper article, invoice).
Thanks - where could this be uploaded? the only documentation that seems to be accepted are the identification documents (IDs, passports)

Meta usually accepts proof that links the brand to the legal entity, like trade name registration, trademark documents or an official website showing both names.

Where can this provided/uploaded?

Showing brand mention on your official website or legal docs can help link the page to your entity

Yes, use documents showing brand-entity link: trade name registration, invoices, utility bills, or business website. Meta accepts proof of relationship. Keep branding consistent across platforms. Don’t change page name just strengthen documentation.

* Official business licenses or permits where both names are explicitly listed.

When you submit the application, they check a couple things. When you put your name down, they just want to make sure the added name, matches the billing name. They also have an option that allows you to submit documents to show that the business is yours. Just make sure that the name of the billing, matches the name of business founder or founders. From there, it should be fine.
