I feel that it is now very important to give quite good time for this. Earlier, I also used to start blogs just as an impulse and still make good money from them. But now the situation has completely changed. There is so much competition. Also, blogging requires too much expense on good content and seo now that if you do not plan everything in advance , it can result in wastage of money also.

These days, blogging without a solid plan is like sailing without a map, you will likely get lost in the competition. I think you should analysis your competitor before starting.

True, competition is way higher now. Without solid content + SEO budget, it’s tough to stand out

I start many blogs each week, I schedule content and build up seo. I don’t think you need to overplan to launch a website as there’s too much competition nowadays.

How many blogs each week ? How are you monetizing ?

Yes, planning is must now. I take enough time to research niche, keywords, and audience. If you start without a plan, most of the effort and money goes nowhere.

Don't waste too much times on the planning just for it, you'll figure everything out at the same time

That can result in so big challenges that you are forced to quit the project .

True, seo is not expensive and need good planning to get ranking on google and earn from that.

quite a few weeks to be honest

Before starting a blog, I'd typically spend a few hours to a few days planning. This includes deciding on the niche, target audience, content strategy, and design. Researching keywords, outlining initial topics, and setting goals are key steps. The more detailed the planning, the smoother the execution will be.

I usually plan 3-5 days before launching any blog. Niche validation, keyword clusters, monetization angles, and internal linking strategies—everything is mapped out first. Without that preparation, you're just wasting time and budget.

Blogging has changed a lot. Earlier, even impulse blogs could earn, but now competition, content costs, and SEO expenses are much higher. Proper niche research, planning, and strategy are a must; otherwise, you can easily waste time and money.

5 minutes. And then I conclude, nah, it's too competitive, I won't rank lol :D

I usually spend at least a couple of weeks on research and outlining before launching. Without a clear plan, it’s easy to waste both time and money later.
