Site Flipping business is BAD

Hmm this is interesting thread. I was asked to sell a site for a client in a big niche. I thought at first it would be worth around $15k+ but maybe not. I have looked over Flippa the last couple of days and found a lot of crap sites. I think we will still go forward with selling the site. If there are any truly experienced site sellers that want to help asses this website maybe pm me and I will cut you in on selling it if you prove to be knowledgeable.

I'm the author of a physical micro stakes poker book that brings in about $150/month profit from Amazon sales. I also built a companion website catering to the micro stakes player that obviously pushes the book. The site is now PR2 and ranks on the first page of Google for dozens of micro-stakes related poker terms.

I was considering selling the tandem on Flippa but based on this thread, I'm leery of even bothering. Can someone who is familiar with site flipping tell me if a setup like this is something that's likely to sell? If so, any idea what I should expect to receive for something like this?

Only just saw this thread get bumped. Just about any site sells (although I would advise you avoid movies and warez). Depends how consistent sales have been, but I suspect Amazon is great for passive income, so you would probably get around $2k

i'm flipping for a while at flippa..it's still a great business especially for flipping an established site..but for flipping a new site/ turnkey site..it's now seems to be dead..

Damnit. I was going to sell a website on flippa and came here to get tips. Now I find out that new sites aren't doing that hot...Well I'm gonna give it a shot anyway. I'll post an update when I do.

I've been flipping for a while. I noticed this trend from march this. Less bids, less views, lower selling prices.
Flippa even offered a birthday discount voucher this week. So it appears times are tough.

I noticed this too, DP was a good selling point at a time. Now it went into the gutter, more page views than anything.

People are still happy to pay big dollars for authority/older whitehat sites. But autoblogs, which often have used spammy link building techniques and could be dropped by google at any second, they are harder to sell to buyers that have a clue.

People still happily pay 12 month earnings for WH sites, but some of these autoblogs, I wouldn't trust them for more than 2 months earnings.

White hat, proper built sites with good quality content will never go out of style. But why would someone even want to sell an AUTO blog?
