Crypto promised freedom from banks, but adoption still feels halfway there.

Do you see it ever fully replacing traditional banking, or will both always coexist?

Truly decentralized crypto? Never. A bank will never give out a mortgage in bitcoin. Regulation will never allow you to invest in your Roth IRA or buy equities with bitcoin.

They'll just fully implement CBDC's (their OWN version of crypto that they control) which will be just like money is now, but 100x worse with more surveillance and zero privacy.

Good point, mate.

CBDCs look more like a digital leash than true decentralization.
Do you think people will actually adopt them willingly, or will we see a parallel “shadow economy” built purely on decentralized coins instead?

I think crypto will likely coexist with traditional banking rather than fully replace it. Banks offer stability, regulation, and services most people rely on, while crypto excels at borderless transactions and decentralization. Over time, we’ll probably see more integration, with each serving different needs.

Makes sense that both will fill different roles instead of one killing the other.

Do you think banks adopting blockchain tech will strengthen crypto’s legitimacy, or just water down its original purpose of decentralization?

There will always be a shadow economy, but in my opinion it will always be a mess to transfer/use "non government approved" currency in the real economy, without a ridiculous amount of KYC.

Exactly, that is the real sticking point adoption vs usability. Governments will push CBDCs with incentives (or force), while decentralized coins may thrive underground but struggle with mainstream utility.

Not going to happen mate.

If crypto can’t fully replace banks, do you think AI-driven fintech apps could be the real disruptor instead of handling loans, investments, and payments without the need for traditional banks ?

I think it will be parallel, banks have been established for a long time and are subject to more legal regulations, ensuring deposits and loans.

I think both will co exist. One isn't enough to fulfill everyones need.

The more options the better. The banks have had an incredible stronghold and similar to giants like Amazon, having almost a monopoly of industry means they have an advantage. Like crypto or not, I suspect it will be better for the clients to have more options and the banks to have some degree of competition as a platform.

I think banks will still be seen as the more stable and trustworthy option. Unless crypto gains mainstream adoption for everyday use, it will probably remain more of an alternative payment method. I think both systems can only coexist, since many people will always prefer traditional banking.

I think banks can integrate crypto with security features at a certain time.

A good probe to push this forward could be

Quick Question : “Do you think banks will eventually adopt crypto like features themselves (like instant settlement, borderless transfers), essentially competing with crypto on its own turf, or will they always resist and stick to their traditional model?”

Banks routinely discriminate against nomads and expats. Recently read an article saying that nowadays Revolut is biggest bank in Lithuania - fintech that serves nomads and expats gets more business than 'normal' banks. That says all.

If you see the price growth of coins, it reflects there is huge demand. There should be some way for poor also being able to access it in some way .

Hi Mate, Thanks for being part of my discussion.

Quick Question : Do you think fintechs like Revolut, Wise, and N26 will eventually replace traditional banks for global users, or will they just stay as an add-on service while the old banks keep their dominance?
