[Journey] Building an iOS & Android App Empire

So far I didn't have any viral hit, but let me tell you: For me its so annoying to keep making tiktok videos....i just hate the content creation part. i should probably hire someone who takes care of this
Yeah some people just have content brains. I'm in the same boat as you.

Hello Team I’m reaching out from Kenya Africa, and I really need some honest help and advice from those of you who’ve figured out how to survive and thrive in this Google Play ecosystem. I’ve been trying to make it in this space, but it feels like I’m always running into walls.
Over time, I’ve opened 3 organization accounts and 4 individual ones. No matter how hard I try to stay legit buying new devices, using fresh numbers, changing locations but Google keeps terminating my accounts. Some of my apps have done pretty well, growing up to 100K downloads, but none seem to last.
I’m starting to wonder is the problem me? Is it the developer I’ve been using from Fiverr? Or could it be the source codes I buy from CodeCanyon? I usually go for utility apps, but I don’t know if that’s a red flag anymore.
This whole Google situation is frustrating and discouraging. I’m putting in real effort, investing money, trying to play by the rules, and still ending up back at square one or worse. At this point, it’s messing with my peace, and I’m honestly this google is sending be back to the village ,I need to find a sustainable path forward.
I’m now considering shifting to iOS, but I’d appreciate advice like :
  • How much capital do I realistically need for promotion?
  • What kind of download threshold is required before organic downloads start kicking in?
  • Are there specific app types or niches I should avoid or focus on?
If any of you have gone through similar struggles and found a way out, please help a brother out. just proper guidance from people who’ve been there.

Same! This is actually keeping me stuck from growing. I can pump apps super fast now with AI, but I should setup some sort of content creation farm...

Bro, please try Apple/iOS. They don't randomly terminate accounts + the users on iOS are willing to spend much more money.

to answer your questions:

- its not really about money or promotion. you can find a good niche with good keywords and will get orgnanic traffic
- you can get organic downloads right from the beginning if you target the right keywords (thats for Apple)
- If you want everything to be legit and avoid bans, make sure to completely follow the guidelines. Also, if you don't have big budget don't go for high competitive niches

With Apple you should be able to make decent money for Kenyan standards and have a good life.

I am not hiring an app developer mate, try upwork or fiverr

Same! This is actually keeping me stuck from growing. I can pump apps super fast now with AI, but I should setup some sort of content creation farm...
Yes mate. Same here. I need to figure out the marketing part for scaling. I mean, to simply get users paid ads are by far the easiest. Just setup the campaign and its just autopilot. The only thing to do is test different creatives (if on meta or tiktok).

My next step would be to hire influencers or to hire someone who can do the tiktok viral marketing part.

i am sure here on BHW are many guys with these skills.

For my part, if I am coding 5-6 hours per day, I really dont have the nerves to sit down and come up with viral content ideas or edit videos

Update:

Might be of interest for you:

First I used just ChatGPT for coding. Then, I went for Cursor and used different models.

But now, I just tested Claude Code and it totally blows my mind. Right now I am in the $20 subscription for testing, and its already super good. Now I think about upgrading to the $200 Max package.

Its literally coding on autopilot and all you need to do is press enter to approve. Its insane. Totally different level.

Yup, Claude is above the rest in quality. Mainly because of the window. I dont know what to call that feature. but it keeps the code open, And ADDS to it. Not just keep stupidly recoding things. Again and again...And again. But it still a long way off it cant truly programme without major blunders. Youd be better of learning to do it yourself. And just using chatgpt/grok/claude to guide you.

Nahh man, learning it takes way too long. This here is literally a PVP server and you have to act QUICKLY. You can not spent 6 months learning a program language. In this 6 months you will get 200+ competitors and your niche is already saturated.

You need to act quickly, no matter what.

In fact: Nobody cares about your code or the quality of your code or how the fuck it is organized. Only the product matters. Speed always wins. Its better to publish 50 "poorly" made apps in 6 months, than 1 perfect high quality app in 6 months. The absolute way to go is to publish these 50 apps, see which niche is worth it and then to improve the winning app.

I wrote it before: There is nothing worse than you spending a shit ton of time (and money) for one app just to figure out the niche is not worth it.

I suppose it depends on which market your targeting. B2B, which is another place where the real money lies. They will catch you! Lol, but fairs. I suppose you can make the same money on such platforms with such a way of working. But you need to have a lot of customers which is a marketing nightmare to say the least. At least somewhat for me...I sometimes have a love hate relationship with it. You seem more the sales type. So its ideal for you.

Yeah I totally understand your point. The thing for me is it is all self-funded. If I would have investors, etc. I would just hire real talented coders, but since its just me, I just use AI, make money, and then use this money to scale my apps (paid ads, other marketing, etc.)

how's your tiktok accounts farming going. usually for one app how many account you make and how you warm and farm multiple account if you don't mind answering ?

i learned it the hard way , i took 5 months to make 1 app so good that no ones buys anything , other was 1 month still nothing and , new ones is 1 week old , everyone just takes trial and cancels it . now i will take machine gun approach to this , publish 50 poorly made apps first , test first rank in kw and then see , its so demotivating to see every app failing

Not going well, because I don't have much time to post content. Its so time consuming to post content. I really need to hire someone. Or at least outsource it to someone, maybe someone here on BHW.

Yes, you just need to get the basics right:

Onboarding -> Paywall -> At least one main feature / function

Right now in my case, I build a really good template. I build it in a way I can easily reskin it for other niches. I am using Flutter to do so, so I can just ship it to Google Play and iOS.

The reason I also do it on Google Play now is because if I get a lot of traffic through TikTok, I want the Android users to also download the app. I don't want to lose half the traffic just because I don't have an Android published.

good luck with your journey seem very interesting
Thank you.

Just about to publish my new Flutter app. I made it in a way I can easily reskin it.

I found a really good YouTube channel I want to share with you guys. Really good and important informations, especially when it comes to monetization:

Furthermore, on Monday I have an interview with someone from the Web Summit 2025 in Lisbon. Lets see how this plays out!

Hi, maybe your app is using copyrighted material or names, if not the case, check your source code, if it is a Codecanyon code and you don't make severals changes, you will be get catch every time on GP, also do not use the same CC or phone, the system is very simple: you need to be a totally different person in the eyes of Google. If you need some help PM, I have more than 12 years experience on GP.
