Banned from Marketplace due a regular transaction

If there’s no appeal option, the ban may be permanent. You can try contacting FB support for review, or use a clean profile and avoid the same payment method.

Facebook often bans Marketplace accounts over payment method violations, and Revolut requests can trigger it. If there’s no appeal option in your Support Inbox, your best bet is to wait out the restriction or use a separate, compliant account to continue selling.

What are the specifics of this? Is Revolut not allowed?

Facebook usually sends an email notifying you of the reason for the ban. Read the notice carefully to understand the reason. Visit the Facebook "Help Center" section and find the appeal option. Explain your situation clearly and concisely. If you have any evidence (such as messages with the seller), attach it to support your request.
Afternoon all..

I've just been banned from Marketplace on FB for requesting a persons Revolut to send them money.. you see I bought a device that seller couldn't tell me worked.. so I part paid, and then when I tested and confirmed, I asked for sellers Revolut so that I could send the balance.

But FB had other plans. Boom.

This is terrible, because I have just started flipping laptops and Marketplace is a great place to find buyers (believe it or not....!).

What are my options for getting back onto Marketplace?

I just get this message now... and there doesn't seem to be a way to appeal or anything?

Is so easy just create another account and enjoy your business or whatever you do

Ok guys.. so the plot thickens.

I think I have figured out why I got kicked. I found a link to xxx/accountquality and it showed the following issue on one of my subsidiary pages that was for an abandoned SaaS I had been looking at last month.

And I got kicked on the 7th August, so it fits.

... I don't think that this is as bad as I thought. As I should be able to just remedy the situation right?

I'm going to see if I can raise a ticket with FB over this.. and failing that, I will just delete that business page, as I no longer need it anyway.

Failing that, I will just create a new stealth account.

Does anybody have experience with this kind of problem.

P.S. This is my totally straight up legit personal account and selling only a few flipped laptops.. I would really like to keep that account in good health.
Hi there! Great detective work finding the root cause in Account Quality! You're absolutely right - this is much more fixable than a random ban. Since it's linked to a specific subsidiary page violation, here's the best approach:

In Business Manager → "Business Settings" → remove that problematic page completely first. Then go to Account Quality → submit an appeal explaining you've removed the violating asset and it was from an abandoned project.

Avoid creating stealth accounts - Facebook can link them to your main account and ban everything. Focus on cleaning up your legitimate account since you found the specific issue.

For your laptop flipping business, make sure all listings comply with Facebook's commerce policies in the Account Quality section.

I've seen many accounts restored within 5-7 days when the specific violation is identified and resolved properly.

How long ago was that subsidiary page created, and have you already started the removal process from Business Manager?

This is a disaster, I am sure I have now been shadow banned on my IG.

While I only have a small small number of followers, I know they actively use IG and if they saw my post they would like it.

I have had zero engagement on a post I made about 2 days ago.

G0d damn this whole episode.. and to make matters worse, FB seem to have completely removed any way for me to contact them.

Hopefully time will fix this wound but this is going be brutal for my biz.

P.S. I can't delete the offending page in BM for some reason.

Hi Everybody...

So I finally figure out what happened with my account.

Like an truly insane person.. I go in nearly everyday and click marketplace to see the same error... but today it was different.

This is annoying.... I do recall somebody previously said you can't sell as a business. I don't know how they figured that out.. perhaps in one of my ads I added links to my website or a picture of my business card.

I've asked for a review and hopefully they will reactivate.

In any case, I think I am going to proceed and create a new account for selling items.. I'll probably need to open multiple accounts as I can't list many items on each account.

P.S. What the actual fuck.... I see loads of profiles in my area who are clearly businesses given the volume of listings they have. I probably made it too obvious. YLYL.

Your account has been banned from Marketplace because of Revolut - maybe you were banned due to off-platform transactions, I think you should switch to using an old backup account or an account to learn from experience for future payments and read meta's policy carefully

Your account has been banned from Marketplace because of Revolut
FB has an issue with those who use Revolut?

I've never seen that before and although I'm not treating FB like my 4-acre spam farm anymore, I still like to see what others do.

Marketplace bans are often linked to payment rule violations. If you mentioned Revolut or bank transfers, that’s enough to trigger it. Without an appeal option, you’ll need to either wait it out or move to a fresh, trusted account

Ok, so it seems Revolut is a no-no on Marketplace.

But then I ask.. how do I accept payment when the transaction is remote?

I personally don't accept PayPal on Marketplace on my local classifieds, because it is full of scammers who will claim the item never arrived, or arrived damaged.

Stripe?

There are like 95 different ways to accept payments online.

That sucks, man! Maybe try reaching out to FB support directly—sometimes they review things if you explain the situation—and be careful with payment methods next time to avoid flags.

True but not everybody has 95 ways to pay.

In Europe Revolut is very popular and a lot of people use it. I would actually argue there are a lot less ways to pay in the EU (Ireland) compared to say, Africa or the US.

That's why you should learn the rules carefully before you want to enter the market. Use a new account and avoid similar things from happening.
