Is X Rumer still alive?

Back in the 2000s, there was this super popular software called X Rumer. But over time, due to stricter rules and increasingly difficult CAPTCHAs, it started to decline and eventually lost all its competitiveness. I was wondering — are there any websites or tools nowadays that can still do what X Rumer used to do?

X Rumer definitely lost steam with all the newer restrictions and CAPTCHAs.

I don't think XRumer is commonly used these days for creating backlinks. it's mostly used by people for its XEvil CAPTCHA-breaking capabilities. That said, it's still a plugin option for creating Web 2.0 links, but it's heavy on CPU resources. Manual link building is probably a better option in most cases.

Yes, thank you very much for such a detailed response. I was just curious whether there are any current projects that could rival the now-outdated Xrumer. I actually already have the entire list you provided, but I appreciate it nonetheless.


Right now, I think I'll focus more on building backlinks manually, simply because I like having full control over the entire process. But sometimes, when I look back and remember those times—especially now that we have AI—it makes me wonder: maybe Xrumer could be revived with its help!

Never tried Xrumer, but rly thinking about doing that, coz every time I was browsing the interface it just looks very smooth and straightforward (compared to gsa lol)..but should I even be trying the v19 I have? Or the Strong AI is an must in 2025?

How do you get your links, with hrefer or GSA?

1) Yes, this was with v23 Strong AI

2) v19 still works fine but the upgrade to v23 is absolutely worth it. It saves you so much time and the quality of the posts is just great. Adapt the GPT settings to match your topic and forum posts and blog comments will be published and remain. Since v23.0.5 you can also use other GPTs like Mistral, so it's even better.

3) I'm scraping my own lists for T1 and use the mass lists for higher tiers.

Have you ever used hrefer? I tried few days ago...it does find something but not a lot I guess Scrapebox is the only solution...

Botmaster's list is fine for higher levels. You can also look at the offers on botmastersupport.

I'm just too used to Scrapebox so I've never played much with hrefer.

Another option is commoncrawl which saves not only proxies for scraping, but lots of time.

Nowadays only parasites poweruse a tool like this. Personally I've been much more inclined to GSA because I know it in detail. But I've heard many users from xRumer having some sort of success. Not like I'm ranking a "visit New York" keyword #1 thanks to xRumer, but helping push that "Apollo 13 FullHD Torrent" keyword to top 10 in for the parasited Github repository.

Well I'm just setting up one stop shop to boost the f of this very parasited Github repo with GSA and good old Xrumer just catch my attention again It's the ugly Lada in garage nobody ever touching after buying it with XEvil

xrumer is alive in 2025 but whether it works or not is still a question. will give it a try.
