Neil Patel’s YouTube Channel: You can watch his YouTube video about SEO.

Google’s SEO Starter Guide: This is the only official SEO guide from Google. Covers the basics of how to make your site search-friendly. A must-read for beginners. You may understand how to work and what methods help you rank faster by being active here.

Black Hat World (BHW): This is one of the popular online forum where people discuss SEO, affiliate marketing, digital tools, and money-making methods. By reading the SEO threads here, you can learn easily. If you post about any issue, many people might help you very fast, which is amazing. It is Great place to learn, share, and network.

All his vids are less than 10 mins you will hardly learn any thing. On the top of that he will ask you to buy ubersuggest or answerthepublic. Both of which he owns.

I think so is true for everyone else as well. Everyone has something to sell when they appear be it in sites or videos. But Neil is pushy.

Honestly, I picked up SEO from a mix of places over the years. No single “course” really covered it all.

• BHW (obviously): A lot of what I learned started here. Reading journeys and case studies taught me more than any textbook-style guide.
• YouTube: Channels like Ahrefs and a few smaller creators helped me understand the basics visually.
• Google Search Central docs: Boring, yeah, but it clears up what’s officially allowed and what’s not.
• Testing on my own sites: This is where things clicked. You can read forever, but messing with live sites and seeing what sticks teaches you faster than anything else.

For beginners, I’d say:

• Start with BHW threads and see real-world examples.
• Follow some free content from Ahrefs or Moz just to get the fundamentals down.
• Then, experiment. Even a $10 domain with cheap hosting is enough to learn on.

Theory’s fine, but SEO makes sense once you break it and fix it yourself.

Yeah, it’s kind of ironic. Google is the main source for learning SEO, but at the same time, they often say, You shouldn’t do SEO just for search engines.
