Hi, I’m running some Facebook ads for affiliate products and wanted to ask for some insights. Right now, I’m paying around $1 per click, which feels way too high. I’m targeting 3 states and all devices. Is there something wrong with my setup? Why are the ads so overpriced?

Also good to keep in mind, some countries, e.g the US have a higher CPC than other countries

Too specific of a target audience can increase the cost per click. Try a little more broader, if that doesn't work, then your ads are bad and/or not performing well
I thought Broader target would increase the cost, or it actually depends?

No, the more specific you target your audience, the more you're paying for it. The more broader, the less you pay for it
OK got it, Thanks a lot man <3

If your CTR is below 1%, the creative can also be a problem. Expanding your segmentation can be a good idea, but take a look at your video or image CTR to see if people are engaging with it or not

What is your campaign goal
You said click..but seems to look like messaging by reason of the cost

You also didn't mention the niche

Go broad and make sure your creatives are killer

There can be several factors like geo, niche, competition, etc. You can try split testing before targeting specific zones. You should also try multiple creatives to see if something else gives you better results.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I ran 3 Ads to a specific country even excluded the other countries I was watching the Pixel events + Google Analytics, looks like FB is scamming they were sending people outsside of the Country Target. this is related to Fintess Niche Affiliate Product But the data is not accurate also the countries are not from the target, From 100% the country target visitors were only around 8%

High $1/click cost is mainly due to competition, broad targeting, and low CTR; you should optimize content, narrow your audience, and test multiple variations to reduce costs.

I think $1 CPC isn’t unusual depending on niche and geo. A few things to check:
  • Narrow targeting (3 states) can make costs higher. Try broadening.
  • Split placements/devices, mobile is usually cheaper.
  • Test more creatives—low CTR = high CPC.
  • Make sure your campaign objective matches your data stage.
Sometimes $1 is fine if your EPC covers it.

that's fine if you are optimizing for conversions. you can work on hook/hold rates, ctr % to get it down more

Check your ad relevance score, low engagement spikes clicks prices.
