Reddit moderation bot that auto replies on all the post

I saw a few subreddits that have a specific type of mod (not automoderator) - its named subredditbot like if its r/soccer the its named soccermod.

That bot auto replies on all the post with the same thing and in each post it add their website which is basically an affiliate link to their product.

My question is - How can something like this be automated? I tried to get an idea using AI and it told me to create a Python bot and use PRAW.

I am not sure how well this will perform or if this will be against reddit rules? I have seen other subreddit do it but not sure if this is the right approach. Anyone has any idea?

So it works right? If I do it on my subreddits - it wont lead to any ban (Unless ofc I am posting something thats against the policy)

Yes, you can do it with Python and PRAW but be careful. Reddit doesn’t like spammy bots, especially if you're dropping links. Even if others do it, it can still get banned.

If the bot is used in your own subreddit, it's generally okay. But auto-promoting affiliate links in other subs is against reddit's rules.

Yeah its possible using Python and PRAW or Pushshift but Reddits API changes have made it a bit tougher Just make sure the bot is mod approved and doesnt spam Reddit rules can be strict Best to host it with rate limits and good error handling

yeah, i've seen those bots too, they're custom bots built using reddit’s API, usually with praw like you mentioned.
it’s definitely possible to automate, but yeah, it does go against reddit’s rules if you're using it for promo or affiliate links, especially without disclosing.
some subreddits get away with it if the mods run it and keep it low-key, but it's risky if you're not the owner of the sub. tread carefully.
