Thanks enough for the tip. It's a football blog so I feel publishing trending news would get my content buried cos of the top guys. So I focus more on evergreen content like making a post from quotes and other stuff like that.

For title and meta description, I prompt chatgpt for the best and even use fitting permalink too.

I have started to post regularly as @seo crazy suggested and hope things align better.

you'll not get banned, you might get a warning if you're trying to advertise yourself (but I feel that's not the case for you)

But you still don't want to make your sites and keywords public on the biggest SEO forum on the planet, for many reasons: evil people could hack your site, or steal your keywords (increasing the competition for you)... or even google staff might get the idea that you're trying to build links to your site and - since google hates link builders - they'll probably flag your site in some negative way, making it impossible to rank, or rank highly in the future.

The point is: don't share your sites on SEO forums. If you find someone willing to help you feel free to give them your site's URL in a DM (direct message, or Private Message as it's called on BHW), just don't post it here

Unfortunately, I've no idea how you can rank a sports blog in this day and age, but hopefully some kind soul can help you out. Also, you might want to take inspiration from the sites ranking in top 30 (not just in top 10). Because I assume that if there are other sites like yours (unknown and / or small) that linger on / around pages 2-3 of google then they're probably doing something right that you can mildly replicate (not copy-paste, but take inspiration from), and then just do certain things better than them. I think this is the best way to go about it when you're in the dark like you seem to be right now

I can't argue this cos am a noob in the SEO world but am catching up learning from a couple of gurus so yeah

It could be any of the issues you listed honestly. My word counts usually dangle between 500-800 atmost so I'm not competing but ensuring my content is original and reliable since it's a football blog. I don't conduct SEO research. I pick fresh content from reliable football pages, rewrite and publish. Backlinks? I share publish on local forums, Quora and share links on social pages but I'm not consistent with this honestly.

Yeah I already did this. I also submit url of every post I make for indexing too. Like I said, I'm new into blogging and also not too techy myself but am catching up. Thanks enough

My backlink strategy isn't efficient enough honestly cos I only use Quora which doesn't support linking back and I'm not even consistent on the platform. I use Pinterest and a couple of other social media pages where I share links on.
