Good day everyone

I tried to update my sitemap on my search console but it's only "last submitted" that's updating but the "last read" is not updating.

What should I do please? I have attached a picture below

Buddy this usually happens when Google hasn’t re-crawled the sitemap yet sometimes it takes 24–48 hours.

If status is “Success,” you're fine. Just give it a bit of time and don’t resubmit too often.

The sitemap doesn't read for 2 days now that's why I posted for help. I haven't seen that before

google just lagging behind on the crawl. it happens sometimes. if it doesn’t update the "last read" then try removing and resubmitting the sitemap.

I just did that and honestly it still not working.

check if sitemap url returns 200 and robots.txt allows access. sometimes it's not crawl delay, it's a block or bad path.
Please help with a guide on checking that. I'll really appreciate it

Sometimes Google takes time to crawl updated sitemaps—try resubmitting and checking for errors in Search Console

If you keep posting new content, then Google will eventually crawl your site. If you force the bot to crawl your site using any shortcuts, you might get crawled but currently not indexed errors. So, it's better to wait.

Probably means Google hasn’t crawled the sitemap yet since your last update which might take a bit sometimes. Make sure the sitemap URL returns a 200 status and isn’t blocked in robots.txt.

You can also try removing the sitemap, waiting a few hours and resubmitting it.

Just relax and wait it will take time happen no of times with me

Sometimes, it can take a little time for the "last read" date to update, so be patient. If the problem persists, consider resubmitting your sitemap or reaching out to Google's Search Console support for further assistance.

No need to panic. If you've submitted it to be recrawled, leave it alone and be patient. If there aren't any problems with it, it should be fine. If there are problems with it, GSC will throw a tantrum about them.

If it deems it unnecessary to add it to the index, it will not be added. You can see why in the Pages section.

If the “last read” date isn’t updating, try resubmitting the sitemap or check for errors in the file—Google may not be able to fetch it properly

Sometime last read isn't updating, Google hasn’t crawled sitemap yet, resubmit again; it will takes hours to a few days.

I appreciate all the help and response.

The sitemap has been successfully updated. Thanks everyone for the contribution
