I use to share an account with someone, didn't know him in real life. We just shared an account because both ours videos would get ranked higher if we put them on so same account. Which would get benefit us both. He made a few videos, about 3. They all received amazing amounts of views and comments. Mine only got x,xxx after a few months, while he was just over 60,000. What makes his view so much more? The upload date was the same. Was it just the keywords? What tricks do you guys have? I know it needs to be low competition keywords, attractive thumb nail, but what else? I am really curious.

Thanks

I have a cool bot that i made for myself, but i cannot post the url because i just registered.

I am not talking about a bot. I am talking about techniques in tags and descriptions and titles, etc.

Definitely make great use of YouTube's SEO search term abilities.

Step 1: Take the general keywords for your video niche that you would normally put as tags and BEGIN typing them into the search tool -- Don't type them all the way through

Step 2: Take a look at drop down box that appears when you haven't finished typing your keyword term as YouTube attempts to fill in your search term with the most common search phrases that come after the letter you typed

Step 3: Use those phrases and others to determine other potential searches YouTube users of this niche would like to see. Repeat the process with the dropdown as many times as you can.

Step 4: List of all these tags in the description

Step 5: Get more views and comments then other videos tagged with the same search terms so you appear in the #1 spot or at last on the first page.

It seems if you have more views, favorites, and comments then another video that over time YouTube will respond and bring you to the top.

Hope this helped! If anybody can add on to what I would say, I am always looking for new ways to improve my videos too! But this has worked pretty well for me :)

Also, if you are a partner, make sure you take advantage of uploading your thumbnail !

If you were going to download a youtube video, edit it and re-upload it and use these tagging and keyword techniques to outrank the original video, what all changes would you suggest making to the video to be safe?

You don't know what he could have done...He may have used Jumpstart, or bought a load of views of someone.

Same with comments and likes, could have just bought them. Or he could have got lucky.

If you knew the guy (not allowed to talk about it, its against BHW rules if you know what I mean), he wouldn't pay for views.

Hmmm then he either used the right keywords or made a video/spoof on another video at the time.

I would suggest cutting the original video by a few seconds if possible on the front or back-end. That is your best bet! YouTube recognizes identical content. They rarely do anything about it, but it could pose a problem for you on thousands of videos.

getting a look at YouTube Insight should reveal you how he has more views than you as almost everything is shown there like sources of views and so on..

Putting multiple videos on an account doesn't really make it very beneficial for either. I suppose the channel's PR will be high giving a better link to the videos but that's about it. Assuming YouTubes search shares some consistency with Google.
