How does the algorithm, reel engagement and seo now work?
The strategy of using other people’s videos (if that content is already viral or trending) is actually a really good one. It’s worked super well for me over the past few months to boost engagement and visibility.
Just like we’ve mentioned before, it’s important that you
add your own value to it and don’t just copy and paste it. Those videos have already proven that people do two very important things that matter a lot to the Instagram algorithm in 2025:
- They save the video
- They share it
Whenever you post a video like that, make sure you include a CTA like:
or
“Save it for later”
Because Instagram now values shares and saves even more than likes or comments.
I’ve even seen people turning
off the comments so that the only thing left to do is
share, which pushes followers to engage in that way.
Like I said (and like we’ve talked about before ) the best way to test is by changing
just one variable at a time.
So personally, I would start by testing different CTAs first.
Then, if you're seeing results, you could experiment with
disabling comments and instead saying something like:
“DM me if you have questions” or “Hit share if this helped you”
