I run a biography niche website and my site just got affected by the current Google algorithm update which cleared all my post from serp, so I want to know, can I still continue with the blog if there's any hope to get it back or I should start a new site?

Your advice is needed. Thanks everyone

If you can get traffic from Bing and other search engines (or social media, ads, whatever), you can continue your website

If you are completely dependent on Google, start a new one

I never knew Google done an update this month? I know about YT 15 July updates.

I’d keep on publishing quality content and monitor search console. A rebound is possible if you show quality content. Starting a new site could be plan B, but don’t trash all your work unless you’re sure it’s beyond recovery.

I depend more on Google since my niche is about football player biographies

Wait until it finished rolling out + 2 weeks.

Decide after that.

Still there is a possibility to get rank again.
Wait for stopping their final role out and fix them then your action will start.

Yes, you can continue-focus on improving content quality and site structure, recovery is possible with time and consistency.

You can definitely continue. Google updates can hit hard, but many sites do bounce back with the right fixes. Take a step back and review your content- make sure it's original, helpful, and shows real expertise. Clean up low-quality posts and improve your author credibility. Starting a new site might seem easier, but often it’s better to fix and strengthen what you’ve already built. There’s still hope- just be consistent and patient.

Thank you everyone for the answers. I found this helpful. I'll update the thread after the Google algorithm update is over.

I've had 3 sites. Each about 5-7 years old. All of them reached about 30k/m in traffic in the beginning. I did very little to them after the first year. When I look at the traffic chart over those 5-7 years its a roller coaster that perfectly correlates with algo updates. Each time traffic recovers but not to previous level. 1 of these sites deserves to be punished. 2 of them don't. They are legit, helpful, interesting. Yet the magic Google machine got it wrong. Applied their algo thinking they were doing the internet a favor but they took down a site people love. My point is... don't rely just on Google... find other traffic sources.

Hello everyone

From the update concerning Google algorithm update affecting my site. Google just brought my site back to serp, but the problem is my posts ranking has been dropped drastically. So I don't know if I still need to have hope probably that Google will rank my posts back it normal position after the update if I'll be lucky to survive the update

Don’t rush to start over. First, check if your content is original, helpful, and human-like. Fix low-quality posts, add depth, and improve E-E-A-T. Google may recover your site in the next update.

Google search is a mess now , a search query like: get warm leads daily on linkedin, then google will show up only reddit posts or linkedin posts, but not the answer I need. It shows then reddit and linkedin posts all over th eplace but that wa sno tmy search intent (here in this example) what a mess, bing + yahoo showing me more accurate results.

The contents carries all the features you listed above. All the same, the site is back on serp though the ranking positions has dropped.
