Programmer/Designer to copy online application and redesign

I am interested in copying what I think is a fairly easy downloadable application online. It falls into the category of a interactive game.

Since its downloadable, the database of info shouldn't be too hard to duplicate (?) but my main concern is giving it a complete redesign as I don't want any copyright issues.

Thought I may be making a stretch putting it here, but Ill PM and post up in Freelancer as well
