What's a reasonable budget for visiting the Maldives?

I always fell for those Expedia ads where they advertise those honeymoon suites on water (or whatever those things are)... I have clicked way too many times on their ads, now the machine thinks I'll be paying them $1000 a night lol.

Add bigger number in the front and remove two zeros.

I wasn't staying in the resort but on local island. They offer 1 day passes to resort though if you pay extra but I spent everything on clothes xD. Apparently they started doing the other way too... Rich people that visit resorts also want a 'more authentic' Maldives experience so they offer them 1 day pass to a local island if they like.
