So, I was taking a look at BHW Marketplace and we have some new threads, especifically about AWS accounts.
Those are high ticket products, they can cost from $800 up to $13k. I would considere them as ''high-risk'' products, because they can be very profitable for potential scammers, all you need to do is upgrade your BHW account ($147 per year) and you are entitled to start selling those high ticket products (as long as you have 1 to delivery to mods).

Those new threads are already receiving attention and unfortunately, for bad reasons. There are already some members complaining about delays and scams. More than one member. Positive reviews are often from members with locked accounts (you can't see their past posts). It's suspicious and concerning, you don't see this kind of reaction in the first page of most BSTs on BHW.

But for now, they are not scammers, I'm not accusing anyone. Maybe they are victims of competitors with shady practices, trying to create fake reviews.

But this kind of item should definitely have additional measures for security reasons, more than just a one-time verification to see if they really have accounts to delivery. Not only AWS accounts, actually any kind of service or item above $1k.

Some examples:

1) Membership Cost: This was already discussed and suggested before, I really believe that the Jr VIP subscription should be compatible with the cost of your services. $147 as a fixed amount is not so fair. If your services cost no more than $100, like an ebook, SMS panel with cheap likes, reddit accounts without karma, etc - you could even pay less than $147. But for those products, they should pay like $1000 per year or even more. Those are very expensive items, it doesn't make sense to be allowed to sell a website that costs $30k, an account that costs $13k or a domain that costs $20k and only pay a $147 fee. It's too much profitable for potential scammers, not in vain they repeatdely create new accounts to keep scamming people with those expensive products.

2) Preventive locks: those sensible services thread should be locked more easily. There are already some potential victims. There are already some complains. Why wait for a proved scam? Lock their thread and only unlock it after an investigation. No need for a dispute resolution or bans, just a conversation or private with the accuser (potential victim) to see if it's a fake review or if this is really a victim of a scam with evidences. If it's a competitor trying to abuse the system, give warnings to those accounts posting fake reviews and delete their comments. Conduct further investigation to punish the competitor with multi-accounts gaming the forum.

3) Warning: put a warning at the top of those BSTs with items that cost thousands of dollars. A text indicating ''This is a high-ticket item, please, procedure with caution, prioritize conversation only on BHW and use an Escrow system.''

4) Telegram: ok, for cheap items sellers should be allowed to still use Telegram, because there are many buyers who are crazily impatient and prefer to use that shit, I don't know why, but okay. But for expensive items? Above $1k? Forbid Telegram. 100% conversation only on BHW. Sellers are not allowed to move the conversation to any other social media, it doesn't matter if it's Fiverr chat, Telegram, Whatsapp, Xvideos comments, whatever, only allow sellers to use BHW DM system.

5) High-Risk Policy: I've already suggested this several times. BHW should create its own High-Risk policy, like PayPal and Stripe have. If a BST has too many problems, several disputes (like that Donald Duck Agency that was recently banned), if there are too many bad reviews, if there are too many complains, simply downgrade the member. You don't need to ban him. Just downgrade and refund him, lock the thread and send a message stating (in fancy words): sorry bro, but your service sucks, your business model is not compatible with BHW rules, we don't support this kind of high-risk business, it's too much risk, there are many complains, many problems, take your money back, you can still be a member here, but go sell somewhere else, you are too troublesome. That's what payment processors do all the time, actually they just kick our asses, but BHW can just downgrade and refund the problematic member (and this case applies not only for expensive, but also cheap products - anyone who is amateur enough to saturate our mods with so many problems).

The final suggestion, would be obviously force everybody who is selling expensive items to use an Escrow system. But this was already suggested several times, waiting for BHW Marketplace 2.0, until there, those other suggested recommendations can be useful to prevent scammers, put some valid security measures to avoid issues, because we are talking about thousands of dollars, in some countries this can take years to be saved and a victim of this kind of scam could really got fucked

I agree with all points made above.

This particularly here:

2) Preventive locks: those sensible services thread should be locked more easily. There are already some potential victims. There are already some complains. Why wait for a proved scam? Lock their thread and only unlock it after an investigation. No need for a dispute resolution or bans, just a conversation or private with the accuser (potential victim) to see if it's a fake review or if this is really a victim of a scam with evidences. There are BSTs where scamming runs rampant, and people complain that they didn't receive what they ordered.

I know a thread with at least 10 victims, the potential loss is in four figures. Seller just ignores all complaints and is business as usual. They don't even try to argue against the accusations.

Since the disputes haven't been opened, it's like the scamming isn't occurring.. preventive measures need to be taken.

There are different reasons why certain individuals aren't willing to go into dispute resolution immediately. Some of them don't know the process, some get rejected because the dispute procedure hasn't been followed, and some are afraid that their business and the deal details will be open for everyone to see, but that shouldn't mean when there is a high suspicion that no action should be taken before an official dispute has been opened.

Those are some valid proposes, putting in some ‘’ bureaucracies'' to increase the security of the forum would be a worthwhile effort, suspicious BSTs and problematic members need to be investigated and restricted at the first red flag whenever possible.

100% agree

aws credit account, openai credit, google ads, facebook ads these all are scammer best product.

That AWS seller has 2 active disputes. BST created one week ago. That's what I'm talking about, high-risk, lock his thread, put a huge red flag warning in that thread...at this point, probably thousands of dollars in losses.

Locked threads used to be a thing not too long ago. I remember BTB doing that quite often. He would simply reply with something like, "Thread locked due to seller having an ongoing dispute thread against them" and lock it. Not sure why this no longer happens. I'm certain that these sellers, who take buyers outside of BHW, continue dealing even while they're in an active dispute. At the very least, a warning would be appropriate. Therefore I agree with your suggestion. +1

All sellers who are under an active dispute are monitored by staff for activity. We can't do much about business conducted off-forum, locking a BST won't make a difference one way or another.

It would make a huge difference.

Once the first negative appears they will spam it out with their alt-accounts.

A new page in the BST and it is business as usual.

By the rules here, nobody can complain more than once, or leave a negative reviews more than once. The seller can just spam it out and keep scamming.

I understand that, and monitoring them on-site is all you can do. But the point the OP and I made is to make potential buyers aware that there is an active dispute thread against the seller. They might think twice before dealing with them if they saw that. But yes, they should also do their own due diligence beforehand.

The OP's point is being discussed among staff.

I'll leave this thread open though for further thoughts.

I completely agree with all these points. As someone who sells AWS accounts and recently lost $2500 buying what was supposed to be a $25k AWS credit account, this really resonates with me.

These scammers follow a predictable pattern - they build credibility with a Jr VIP tag, offer tempting prices, and then disappear after receiving payment. After my experience, I'm removing the Telegram option from my own sales thread since it's clearly being abused to move conversations off-forum.

Stronger measures for high-ticket items are absolutely necessary. Looking forward to the escrow system in Marketplace 2.0, but until then, these suggestions would help protect both buyers and legitimate sellers.

I like OP's 3rd and 4th point of preventive locks and warning as it really helps in knowing what is going on with the sales thread.

Experienced people like me in the industry will always ask questions, double check, try to get reference and put some logic of the product before making a purchase as that comes with experience and it doesn't matter whether you buy here or outside of forum but there are newbies who has just got into industry and there is high amount of misinformation on google and YT that people think this is BH forum and we will buy anything and will become rich by getting a short cut script or a method.

BHW is one of the most respected forum and users are always scared of getting banned as there are rules in place but with changing times, few things needs to be changed as methods of scamming have changed and I don't blame seller alone but buyers as well as they look for a shortcut as well and that's where they get into this net of scams.

Hope to see some good changes in 2.0 version.

Indeed, I can see a growth in the amount of disputes recently.
A high-risk policy to restrict accounts that raise red flags would be welcome, it's not normal to see supposedly legit sellers facing several disputes and complains in such a short period of time.

Preventive actions such as warnings and restricted communication channels (only BHW) are good ideas.
When the first red flag appears, preventive locks and investigation in private would be a good initial procedure.
Then, downgrade the member as a final measure to prevent scams.

About the membership price, this is another subject, but it would be fair to create different tiers, if you want to sell expensive items and services, you should pay more, the forum itself would earn more money using this approach, serious sellers who make $$$/$$$$ per sale won't bother to pay an amount that matches their service prices.

@INCC Stick to the topic at hand and stop making accusations in here. If you have suspicions about a member, you know the channels you're supposed to direct them through.

That goes for everyone else, too, or I'll close this thread.
