Forum now needs strong captcha or something a lot of spam posts and robotic post are now being posted, people creating multiple accounts, looks as posting fake reviews on sales thread too. But, no evidence so can't say it perfectly but for sure spam is increasing.

A strong captcha system would affect legit and real users too. And they can be bypassed, on BHW marketplace there are captcha solvers.

But yes, I'm in favor of zero tolerance against spam accounts. I think there should even be an immediate ban on accounts that are reported and have dozens of spam comments. No warnings for accounts with tens of infractions lately detected, just ban.

Most of these are actual real human beings who just farm replies in threads to increase the messages count. Captcha won't really help in this case. What does help is reporting them, if you see someone making replies one after another in short period of time, you can report them for Rule 3.5 violation.

Example:


This one got nuked right after reaching 100 posts and buying Jr.VIP. There were 6 pages of this Marketplace spam.

Have you reported them? I don't recall ever seeing your username in our reports queue. That's how we get on top of the problem - community assistance and reports.

What's with the people manually creating accounts just to post AI generated content like this person @alex_biz_dev creating fake stories. I don't know, they probably enjoy when people call them out.

If I may add my thoughts, if you encounter several unhelpful AI posts, please report the member rather than all the posts, as it greatly assists the moderation team in taking prompt action.
Also, I wanted to thank those who have reported, as some of you have done an amazing job!

I remember a couple of years back I got an infraction on this forum for reporting a post, from then I start avoiding it. Also, reporting a single post from a user is possible but not all.

use of AI for replying post is something I will say no a spam actually. I also use it to refine my writing skills.

Also, reporting a single post from a user is possible but not all.

Then report the user. Tell us in the note on the report what the user has done. We'll do the rest.

Captcha will not help.
It's using google recaptcha (try running on VPN), but captcha resolvers fixing that. You are on forum with people, who will fake even ID verification in automatic way

Ok, putting this one to bed.

We're constantly looking at the security and we're tweaking things. A lot of the spam farms are human spammers so we can't do a whole lot about it except detect them and go through our process with them. And, as I always say, if you think someone is a spammer of some sort report it. It helps find farms and spammers that fly under our radar.
