It seems to work, I used profile links for one of my newly created websites and it ranks on first page of google for not too competitive keyword.

not underestimating the backlinks or anything,but google ranks new sites very high for couple of weeks,then original ranking comes in.
again just saying from experience not to contradict or anything.

By new, I mean 4 months old and ranking for that keyword have continued to go up, now in #3 spot.

I have found profile links very effective for low to moderate competition niches. They work very well mixed up with some articles on ezine or other article sites and/or web 2.0 sites. Add in a couple on pr page links and you can rank pretty well.

I've only heard good things - I really need to jump onto profile linking more. I did about 30 or so of the Paul links and my site had a rise for a month or so. Hard to say for sure if it was only the profile links.

they work for sure... I know some sites that are ranked #1 with only profile links(angela and paul)

Personally, I don't use them, but from what I've heard from other members of BHW, they do still work, some people don't get along with them and have had no results, just give them a go and see what happens for you, it's something I've been meaning to try out for a while now.

I would say, they work in one condition: Get you angela and paul backlinks indexed to get results. Don't wait for g to indexed it, otherwise you will spend months wondering if it's really worth it. I have a niche which have 290M competing pages and it's #4 at the moment just by using profile links. So it works.
