Hello

I've read several posts from people claiming that Google, when processing card payments, could see the card information such as the first name, last name, and billing address affiliated with that card.

I want to clarify that I'm NOT talking about the payment profile set up on Google Ads, but rather potential information "behind" the card that Google can see.

The problem is that this only exists in certain cases, where even at that stage, Google can NOT see the first and last name linked to the card, so why are some members of this forum saying this?

Thank you.

Are you using a bank issued VCC or a third party VCC. Because sometimes third party cards dont even have a name on file, so Google cant verify beyond billing address. That might be why people say GG cant see it.

I use VCCs issued by third parties, but even without that, do they really see the information on the card? Even Stripe might not be able to see it, I think.

With most third party VCCs, the cardholder name often isn’t tied to real data, so Stripe or Google only see the number, expiry, CVV, and billing info you manually submit. They don’t magically pull your legal name off the VCC if the issuer doesn’t pass it along.

Depends on the card, they can see that sort of info sometimes but as long as you use quality VCCs / cards you will be fine. If you use real 3d cards you will notice it is the case most of the time.

"Are you talking about this: https://stripe(dot)com/resources/more/what-is-address-verification-service ? Even in this case, merchants don't see my card information, but rather whether it matches the payment methods or not. Did I miss something?
