Sudden spike in website traffic!

Hi all, I'm seeing a sudden spike in traffic count on Google analytics from the 'direct' traffic source, unable to find the referring urls. I suspect it as bot traffic as we receive multiple server requests. Please share if you have any ideas on this.

Also suggest if there is any tool to check if my competitors are also facing the same issue.

It's possible, especially if those new users are not engaging or are not performing any valuable action in your website.
About tracking other websites to see if your competitors are also facing the same issue, I don't think it's feasible.

Use jetpack if you can it will provide you some overview or what's happening.

If you're getting a lot of hits with zeros across interaction measures, this seems like it may be bot traffic. Look for anomalous trends such as weird geolocations, odd user agents, or increases during odd hours. Additionally, you may check rival traffic statistics using tools like SimilarWeb or SEMrush to see if they're encountering any similar irregularities. It's worth watching!

you should be able to see it on your cpanel. most hosting providers offer these tools for free with cpanel. which hosting company are you using?

isn't jetpack bloatware? I swear I've heard someone say last year that Jetpack + AIO SEO + Elementor is the Holy Trinity of site nuking (because of making the sites so slow that google kills them outright lol)
