My website is giving error - Dangerous Site

Hello,

I have a wordpress website and it was working fine a week before. But in this last 1 week, I am facing a lot of issues. Firstly, my hosting company has been complaining that my website is using a lot of resources. And now i received a spam complaint and my website gives error as Dangerous Site when you try to visit. I have not done any changes to my website in months. Dont know why these issues happening,

Can anyone help or suggest what should be done please?

Your WordPress site was likely hacked or injected with malware That would explain the high resource usage spam complaint and browser warning First step is to scan your site Use tools like Wordfence or Sucuri to detect malware If you can access your hosting panel check the files manually for suspicious code especially in wp content and wp includes folders. Next update everything themes plugins and WordPress core Outdated plugins are the most common way hackers get in.


If you have a clean backup from before the issue restore it but make sure to clean the server before restoring so the infection doesn’t come back. Also ask your hosting provider if they can give you more details or logs about the spam or resource usage. Once clean request a review from Google via Search Console to remove the dangerous site label. In future install a good security plugin limit login attempts and keep regular backups It’s a pain now but fixable if you act fast

It probably has to do with a malfunctioning SSL certificate; have you checked your SSL connection?

Its back to normal now. Someone did hack my website and created a phishing page. I removed that page, restored my website to a little older but stable version from the backups, changed my hosting, cpanel and wordpress passwords. Then updated all plugins to the latest ones and asked Google Search Console to review my website and in approx 12 hours it was done and now its been working fine. Thank you everyone for your help.
