I’ve learned that some people charge fees for integrating payment functionality into websites, but they require that the site has traffic data visible on Similarweb. I’m curious — what kind of websites need this type of payment integration? Is it related to gray-area industries? Can someone explain this?

Well, basically any websites selling good and services ;) Most people integrate Stripe/PayPal their websites because these are the easiest payment gateways to integrate. I'm not sure if I understood your question, tho.

It's probably so that they don't get lied on, because similarweb shows inside traffic analysis.

Yeah, if the website is in a gray-area industry, they’ll often ask for traffic data as part of their due diligence. Even though they work with high-risk clients, they still have to manage certain risk thresholds.

You sell anything on your website, you need this. So there is demand for setting up such services.

As far as I know, Stripe/PayPal integration doesn’t require traffic data on Similarweb — but I’m not sure if I might be mistaken.

Which payment platforms, if I may ask, require a website to have sufficient traffic?
