In Google I enter this keyword "transportation services + my city". In Google Map results I see 3 companies that have less reviews and a bit higher rating (5.0 and 4.8. We have 4.6) But our company has more total reviews (that have <100 and we have >140).
So does that mean that if I get higher rating in Google - I'll get higher and be shown on the first quick result?

Please advise me on how to get higher rankings in Google Maps, please :)

P.S. We have that main keyword in the name of the company in GMB.

Google Maps ranking depends on more than reviews. Yes, a higher rating helps, but so does location, keywords, activity, and trust.
Make sure your GMB is fully filled out. Keep posting updates, reply to reviews, and add local photos.
Also, get more 5-star reviews slowly, not all at once. Use keywords in reviews if possible.

Keep posting updates where? Is it possible to post anything in GMB profile?
Btw you know a good seller where I can buy quality reviews? Not those sellers from the East :)

Boost your rating to 4.8+ by getting more positive reviews and responding to all feedback.
Post regular photos and updates on your Google Business Profile to stay active.
Get listed in local directories and earn backlinks from local websites to improve authority.

To improve your visibility and ranking on Google Maps, I recommend increasing your rating to 4.8 or above. This can be achieved by consistently gathering positive reviews from satisfied customers and responding to all feedback to show active engagement.

I don't think the actual ratings matter for rankings (it might for conversions) but number of positive reviews do matter.

Try to get more positive reviews -- outreach your existing customers (email, sms or whatsapp), give them some kind of benefit.

To take it another level what you can do is make sure that whatever postive reviews you get, it includes

1. Brand name
2. Location name (or nearby)
3. Keywords

These 3 things will make your reviews highly relevant for seo. That way maybe you can outrank your competitors...

Hope this helps

Ranking higher in Google Maps (also known as the Local Pack or Map Pack) depends largely on Google's local search algorithm,

I've found that building high quality citations for your business can increase the GBP ranking. Make sure your business is listed on 100+ directory type sites online.
Ensure that each citation includes the same Name, Address, and Phone Number. It's also helpful to write a unique business description for each listing.

Definitely a tedious task, but I've seen measurable positive results. I believe this is because it helps to build trust/credibility in the eyes of Google's ranking factors.
Good luck!

Customer reviews, Google Business posts, and high-quality photos all play a key role in boosting local SEO. We’ve also seen strong results from branded GMB foundation links that build trust and authority for your Google listing.

Yes, rating matters, but google Maps ranking depends on more than just reviews-make sure your GMB is fully filled out, get consistentnew 5 star reviews with keywords, add regular photo updates and build local citations to improve your position.

Optimize your Google Business Profile, get positive reviews, use local keywords, keep your info (NAP) consistent across platforms, and add regular photos and posts to boost visibility.

How to Rank Higher on Google Maps:

  1. Get More 5-Star Reviews
  2. Keep GMB Updated
  3. Use Main Keyword in Name
  4. Build Local Citations
  5. Reply to Reviews

Google uses 3 primary factors to rank local listings:
  1. Relevance – How well your listing matches the searcher’s intent (keywords, categories)
  2. Distance – How close your business is to the searcher
  3. Prominence – How established/trusted your business appears (reviews, links, citations)
You can’t change “distance,” but you can optimize relevance and prominence.

Has anyone tested how much weight geotagged photos and regular GBP posts actually carry compared to just increasing 5 star reviews? Curious which of these gives the quickest visibility bump.
