Squeeze Page - Instead of email opt-in, get "Likes"

I've searched around for a loooong thread that was around here that revolved around this but I can't find it. I guess it may have gotten moved to Jr. Vip. Not sure.

I'm trying something out this weekend and I wanted to point some traffic to a squeeze page where I give out a "freebie" in exchange for "Likes" for a related fan page instead of emails.

Anyone know of a tutorial on how to do this or maybe some examples?

Also, I know that there were rumors (true? false?) about being able to keep the email addresses of people "liking" when used on a web page. Is this true?

Sorry for the "n00bish" questions but I haven't messed with this OpenGraph stuff and even though I've searched around (which I'm pretty good at), all the good threads on it have been removed.

Go read the OG docs, because I really doubt you will find anyone who will hold your hand through the process (ie. a tutorial of some kind).

I'm sure tutorials will popup here and there sooner or later.. but if you want to make open graph money right now (while the gettin' is good), you have gotta put in the work and be prepared to learn how to code if you don't already know how to.

I'm into this right now as well. I can't tell you much because I'm just starting with open graph myself, but here's an elaboration on this concept I'm working with:

This kid claims to have worked with Russell Brunson and he seems to have his act together. Anyways, after the usual hype on the vid, you'll see some examples and an explanation on how this works. I'm working on my own version right now, as it gives you more than enough to begin with.

Btw, yes, as I recall you can keep the mails, but it was highly advised in the thread by Megalomaniac Midget to ask for a double opt-in. I personally can't start to imagine the kind of trouble you'd be asking for in the long run if you did otherwise (I've had my own share even with the double opt-in while building regular lists, so I won't even try any other way).

I just meant alot of this stuff is under lock and key right now, and its good to be able to make any changes on the fly (which a solid understanding of the docs will help you do).

You will need to be prepared to have some robust hosting (most likely a dedicated server with load-balancing) in order to sustain the massive amounts of traffic that will be coming in if you really want to get serious with this and scale it all the way up.

Also, yes, if someone "allows," "connects to," or "installs" your application on their FB profile, you can require their E-mail address as part of the app's permissions. You can require their First and Last name, plus a WHOLE lot more. However, I would have to agree, if you are going to mail to these E-mail addresses, or this data (you can essentially build a huge list of fresh and quality data), it would be best to get them subscribed to a double opt-in E-mail list.

I am talking about an external website that actually uses FB's Open Graph API protocol. By just getting someone to click "Like" has nothing to do with them connecting to your website/app via FB. They are just "liking" an external webpage at that point.
