Need Help with TikTok Monetization

Hey everyone,

I’ve been running a TikTok account for the past 8–9 months where I post edited movie clips. The content has been doing really well — I’ve grown to over 300,000 followers and pulled in more than 25 million views.

The problem?

Every time I try to monetize through the Creator Program, my content gets flagged as “original content” (which it’s not, since it’s based on copyrighted material, even though I do the edits myself). Because of that, I keep getting kicked out of the Creator Program. I haven’t made anything from the views, and it’s getting really frustrating.

I totally get that the edits I make aren’t super heavy — I mainly trim, maybe adjust the speed or colors a bit, sometimes crop — so I know it’s close to the original. But I’ve also tried more “technical” solutions like using FFmpeg scripts to alter the video encoding and structure, but I still keep getting flagged.

Meanwhile, I see other accounts in the same niche — same kind of content — and they’re clearly monetizing successfully. What’s interesting is that they seem to apply subtle but effective tweaks to their videos. For example:
  • A horizontal blurred line over the video
  • Slight visual effects or screen overlays
  • Creative aspect ratio changes

These seem to help TikTok’s algorithm recognize their content as sufficiently transformed or unique, and I’m pretty sure they’re earning money from it.

I’m honestly just trying to figure out how they’re doing it — how are they keeping their monetization active? What tools or editing tricks are they using? I’d love some advice, tips, or even tool recommendations from anyone here who’s cracked this.
Has anyone dealt with this and found a sustainable way to stay in the Creator Program while posting movie content?
Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Make split-screen reaction videos, put the movie clip on one side and film your live response on the other. It makes your content unique and keeps you in the Creator Program.

I want to know if Tik tok looks at half the screen and thinks I'm stealing copyright?

Add your own voiceover and big text overlays. Use a custom intro or a unique animation at the start.

My account is currently faceless an I'd like to keep it as it. The movie clips format works very well and I constantly make hundreds of thousands view on each posts, so I'll look for a similar style to compensate though it would be much easier to just show my face haha

Thanks for the advice, I'll look through it. Also what I used to do at first was to record the clips on my phone then sync the audios since there was background noise. But it was time consuming and the files were very heavy which is why I opted for editing everything through my computer. I'd like to copy those accounts that post movie clips and don't get striked but I don't know what their editing style is.

Referring to other videos is just to get the main idea
Your own video needs to be recreated with a new voice, adding and removing details to make it a completely different video. That way your video will be popular and you won't be accused of copyright infringement.
