Site indexed but not ranked

Hey wassup guys, well first of all, this site is crazy, so many good tools and tips here, helped me a lot.
but there is one thing I wanted to ask though, I made my site like 4 days ago, and Google finally indexed me yesterday, indexed me like 26 pages, so I think is pretty good, but there one thing I don't understand, and maybe its because I am a noob, Google is not ranking me for the keyword I'm trying to rank for. Is this normal? is this because my site is brand new and it takes time? Because I mean, over these 4 days, i've been making backlinks like crazy, and I DO have more backlinks than other sites on the first page.
well, it would be pretty cool if someone could gave me a hand on this.

EDIT: oh, I just remembered and i didnt want to make a double post, but is there any tool I can check my backlinks? Not like those online sites there are, but like, a tool that can check even those backlinks google didn't find yet? Because I've been making backlinks like crazy, and like 200 were manually, and I dont know if they are worth it, because yahoo site explorer is not showing them! some help here!

The new google algorithm has changed a lot, specially in the last period.What you need to look for now, when getting backlinks is finding big popular sites that allow you to post your url. In the past a big pr link (pr 6-8) weighted a lot even if the url was from a geeky blog about science that was not very popular in alexa.Right now the pr doesn't weight much, instead links from sites that are very popular in Alexa are the best ones to get when trying to rank for a specific keyword.If you recently started the site it is too early to rank anyway, but in 2 weeks or so you should be seeing results if you do things right.

My friend is telling me to use scrapebox or xrumer that they are really good, and i know they are, specially scrapebox but i don't know why but i feel afraid to use them right now, as the site has just came out. What do you think? Should I just keep doing this manually and at a point "natural" or just freaking blast everything?

Make sure you're building links to your site. Ultimately that's what will help you rank for your keyword. You have to keep consistent with your backlinking efforts.

Yahoo site explorer and backlink watch are ok. If you've got money to spend you can try "SEO Spyglass".

I've been farming commenting on blogs that follow, the high PR sites from paul, and forums and i was able to put my anchor text because it allows HTML. so i hope the results are good.
My friend is telling me to use scrapebox or xrumer that they are really good, and i know they are, specially scrapebox but i don't know why but i feel afraid to use them right now, as the site has just came out. What do you think? Should I just keep doing this manually and at a point "natural" or just freaking blast everything?

Hello guys I have a blog that I started 2weeks ago ranking for a keyword too I got indexed in google prety fast 24 hours my keyword come up in google top 10 in the first week right but after been on top 10 google diceded to dance and my blog moved out to page 100, since then. I been doing backlinks from blogs in google trends and couple days after I found my blog on page 2! But the think is with google u never know. In my opinion build backlinks 10 a day and articles plus bookmarking.hope to help anybody

I'm sorry, I can't understand, so, you have a blog with a prefer keyword, and after google indexed you after 24 hours, you appeared on the first top ten results, but then, google moved to page 100?

The problem with the blasts is that they are picked up so easily by Akismet. My spam folder on my blog is littered with these lame auto responses:

Sry for my English just using iPhone on street I will explain better as I back home but was like that build my blog 24 h later I was indexed by google 24h later I was on the 1 page of google for the keyword that I chose to rank, couple hours later google dance and took me to the page 100 , so what I did to recovery that was blog posts articles submitions and bookmarking and couple days later move into page 2 in google.

Are you sure this wasn't because of the mode in which google saves what you search in it? but anyway, did u make it to the first page?

out of 15 autoblogs i have 9 that are on big G's page 1 for there keyword 1 site has been on googles 1st page number 1 for around 4 months (2,500,000) returns, that has no page rank and less than 20 backlinks ??? go figure

Well, I really dont know, but I guess it depends on how many backlinks the other sites that are competing with you have.
So, help me out with this, if I have more backlinks with the correct anchortext than the one with the less backlinks on the first page, is my site going to appear on the first page of G for my desired keyword? Is this correct?
