I received a payment from an exchange but the transaction is pending for 3 hours.
Any congestion today? Any way to fix this?

Happens sometimes if the network’s busy or the fee was low. Give it a bit more time or check the TX ID on the explorer to see what’s going on.

That's super weird! I've never seen a BTC transfer take more than 1 hour maximum.

I would like to know if you were already able to receive your payment.

You have to wait. I remember I had to wait more than 8 hours for a transaction.

It's usual to see that. Back in the time, I have wait more than 8 hours to fully confirm a transaction. I heard about people who wait 2-3 days.

So I was lucky when I received payments in BTC.

It usually took between 10-15 minutes.

Also the fee was a little high, could that be the reason?

I saw that there are some services that also "accelerate" transfers, I'm not very sure about this.

Yes. Gas fee is one of the reasons. But, the most important factor is the network availability. If there is a big congestion, no big gas fee will solve that.

LE: BTC don't use the term Gas fee (only Etherum use it). For BTC, the right name is called transaction fee.

Yes in about 3-4 hours.
I was monitoring the TXid on Mempool, at some point it was marked as "Replaced" and it went quicker from that moment.
Yes probably the first time it took so long for me.

Yes, there is congestion today on the exchange. Many transactions are pending. Don't worry, just wait some more time. The transaction will complete soon.

If we're being super picky, it's more like a miner reward. "Transaction fee" kinda sounds like a set price. With Bitcoin, you can even send without paying anything – it's up to you.
