Hi all,

I’m just looking to find out how best to track where my pages are ranking and how much traffic they’ve received, what’s the best way to do this?

Thanks

You Can use different rank tracking tools to monitor where your pages appear in Google search results: like Google Search Console (GSC) either use paid tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush.

ahrefs is decent enough, they pick up on prominent sites quickly - semrush oddly lacks behind a few days; but is also decent

you can also try to hide your GA4 tag along with a map embed code - a lot of sites accept map embed, yet most will not accept any additional html code/js code; HOWEVER a lot of editor overread it, if you add some context ebfore and after the code - might get you shitlisted though.

I found this video helpful. It breaks down practical ways to monitor how your parasite pages are ranking and performing over time. Check this out if it helps.

Thank you - looks like I will have to use ahrefs as I’m not able to embed the vac html into medium blogs

Use Google Search Console for rankings and Google Analytics for traffic. Both are free and give solid insights.

You cannot track traffic you can track clicks to links in your parasite pages.
Use a url shortner/link click tracker.
You can check rankings manually, maintain an excel sheet for it.
For rank checking tool google this you will a bunch of them:

Take into account the following tactics to track your parasite pages efficiently:

Rank tracking tools: Keep an eye on where your pages appear in search engine results by using tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush.

If you have access, Google Search Console (GSC) offers information on search performance, such as impressions and clicks.

Analytics Integration: Although some platforms may limit it, embedding tracking codes (like GA4) can provide comprehensive traffic data.

Dedicated Tools: For specialized tracking and optimization features catered to parasite SEO tactics, take a look at websites such as ParasiteSEO.com.

You can make well-informed optimization decisions and obtain thorough insights into the performance of your parasite pages by combining these techniques.

How could think of using gsc and ga on other websites you don't own?

OP, you could try some rank tracking tools. I have used proranktracker. but like always it is better to see it for yourself as these tools don't always give accurate results and the results also fluctuate a lot.

Another way is to use semrush or ahref. This is process is a little bit clumsy.

Is it AI generated? You cant connect GSC with parasites. Are you reading what you writing?

Easiest and Comfort Option is to
Use Google Search Console to track rankings and impressions for each parasite page.
Use Google Analytics or Clicky to monitor traffic data like visits and sources.

1. Google Search Console for SEO
2. Google Analytics for whole site
3. SEMrush for competitors

These three are my most frequently used and useful.

There are a few of the paid parasites (and also some of the more 'creatively achieved' parasites...) that allow you to include beacon code for tracking impressions, but like others have said, go for a reliable rank tracking app - they're dirt cheap nowadays.
