Lets brainstorm

i searched for "yahoo" but still cant get the result???
or they just accept US publisher??

first find yahoo, then add them, then search toolbar under them and it will come up :)

Where abouts in the UK are you?

This should really be kept to a PM. Then you will most likely get a response quicker as there is no certainty that the mightybh will come back to this thread ;)

my problem is when i seached "yahoo", the page listed 19 Advertisers and yahoo is not in the list.... :(

Nah, I get enough PMs already :D

series

After clicking on "get links" and searching for advertisers "Yahoo" I get 27 results. Hmmmm...

Try other programs. Other PPI or firefox with Adsense... Other toolbars will also do or even good old Zango.

when u log into cj. on the get links page, make sure the drop down box on right is selected to all or usa. then type yahoo into search, i found it first go. its definately there.

no choice... and i was just accepted by zango :)
now my gateway is pending for approval

thanks mightybh for your advice :)

This is a really great concept. Anyone have some forums we can post the links on?

finally i can see the yah00 Affiliate Program

but when i clicked to apply, i got this

Your application has been declined by this advertiser for one or more reasons. If you have a question please contact the advertiser through advertisers detail page within the account manager.

!@#$%^&*!!!!!!

anyway thanks Dan08 :)

Dude this s*** is MONEY.

Not quite sure how I'm going to use it, but once I finish fixing up my niche store I'm definitely going to fiddle with this.

Thanks for sharing bro!

Rob

PS - Damn series that sucks man! I just applied and was literally approved in less than a minute. Yet was just declined by AT&T yesterday after days of reviewing my application... If we only knew what the f*** went on behind the scenes with their approval process. All I've done on CJ is cookie stuff eBay and my main CJ site isn't even up anymore... so how the hell could they have decided to approve me, but deny you.. ya know? Oh well...

This method is really cool, I went and did some testing with it. Just the basic site setup + posting about 20 links to sidereel in the popular section.

The results I got though are quite odd to me, maybe someone here can explain

Page Loads- 928
Unique Visitors- 682
Exit Link Direct to Yahoo Toolbar- 155
Conversions- 9

I don't understand why 155 people would click my 'Click here to Download Yahoo Toolbar here now' aff link obviously wanting Yahoo toolbar, and then only 9 of them actually end up installing it. It seems to me they are trying and wanting to get it, and then they just arn't when its right there in front of them.

Ya know, Wes, I was wondering the same thing. Now I haven't dedicated much time to this method, but with the little time I spent on it, I've had 227 clicks to the dl page for the toolbar, yet only 19 conversions. Seems a bit strange that 208 people would click on a link that they know is to dl the toolbar, and then change their mind once they're at the actual dl page.

9% conversion rate. Actually not bad considering you're asking them to install software. Yeah, I know, to you and me this is piss easy, but remember the average mouth breather out there is literally frightened by the thought of a Mycros0ft update wanting to run.

Also they have the attention span of a fucking coked out chihuahua. Their IM went off, or mom caught them pulling out their pecker or something shiny showed up on TV or their toon got squished in WOW or something.

Take the money and run.

Or test test test. :)

to wes200 & BravoSix dont forget Y! Affiliate only pays for U.S.A installs

Good call, I went and checked out the kind of traffic that sidereel gives and I got:

222 44.40% United States United States
72 14.40% United Kingdom United Kingdom
45 9.00% Canada Canada
21 4.20% Singapore Singapore
18 3.60% Germany Germany
13 2.60% Philippines Philippines
12 2.40% India India
10 2.00% Australia

so out of the 155, just estimating about 68 were eligible that makes it a little better.

This is a fairly good way to bring in traffic with a very specific purpose and motive, I just wonder if there is a way to better capitalize on their wants.

Another idea that I think has been covered before but not with PPI. How about a little ad in the newspapers or free classifieds offering a job for very good money but it requires you to download the toolbar as you will need it for that particular job. I'm sure you can come up with some BS for job description.

I'm currently doing that. Was also going to put a vibrant color ad on the ad sign, at a local grocery store. I might post an ad on the Dairy Queen Food menu, of the drive through :P

Ran this for an hour...

Waited 24 hours before I checked my stats...

3978 Clicks...

$581 moolahs. :)
