Monthly views question on Pinterest profile

Hi,

I'm wondering what exactly is monthly views that I can see on some profile.

Does it count only pins I made ?

When searching on google/chatgpt it says that it also include saved pins. I find it weird because if I saved a new viral pins to one of my boards, I will have very high monthly views for something I didn't made at all and just saved. So a very new account who saved a pin can have high monthly views just by saving one viral pin ?

Can you enlight me please ?

It's the total impression from your pins.

Because I rarely ever pin people's content, my monthly views covers impressions from my pins and views from pins associated with my claimed domains. This means, if someone else saved a pin from my website, the views/impression would be shown on my dashboard because I have claimed the domain as mine.

But, just to be sure. Imagine that I own a pinterest account. I have several boards with pins that I created. I also save lots of pins from other pinterest accounts.
You mean that the views are only from pins I have created ? Not saved pins from other pinterest accounts.
I don't speak about website or domain name.

Pay attention to your analytics very well, you'll see the pins bringing the views. Look at the 'source' column. You'd see either 'Your Pins' or 'Other Pins'. Your Pins are the ones you saved directly yourself. The pins belong to other people you save shouldn't count, else it'll be duplicate since they'll also count in the original owner's account.

So even if you save a popular pin made by someone else, it will contribute to your monthly views. This is how newer accounts can have high monthly views by saving viral pins. It's not entirely opposite of what I said but I don't think he's right with the part that includes pins you save.

Pins you save/repin already belong to someone and would appear in their analytics. Why would Pinterest show them again in your own analytics further inflating the total impression count?

If you check analytics very well, you'll most likely see impressions from your own pins that you pinned yourself and those from your pins repinned/saved by others(or pins from your site pinned by others). Go to your analytics and check the column 'source', it tells the source of each pin(basically who pinned it, you or others).

Other people's pins you save, would likely not appear there.

BTW, I don't save other people's pins.

Well I'm not sure to agree.

The user didn't pinned anything since years but still have 18.1k monthly views

People are pinning in her group boards.

It's not her pins but pins from other people so it's not his pins nor pins associated to her domain since the domain is not even online.

The fact stopped pinning doesn't mean your old pins would stop getting impressions. It also doesn't mean other pinterest users would not repin your stuff. Those 18.1k views are from her pins.

People are pinning in her group boards.

It's not her pins but pins from other people so it's not his pins nor pins associated to her domain since the domain is not even online.

Pins that don't belong to you would not be included in your analytics it makes not sense to include them.

Why would you say the impressions aren't coming from her pins when you don't have access to her analytics? Do you have access to her Pinterest analytics?

exact, saving trending or need keywords pins helps to increase your views on board pins before and after publishing the pin. this option is used by many top pinners to get index on most searches.

Monthly views count how often your pins appear. Saved pins count too. Saving a viral pin can raise your views.
