Ok. I'm planning on trying the method where you get people to signup under your reseller hosting plan.

I'm thinking about not giving them cpanel access, and registering the domain myself.

They aren't really the crowd to know that they should get access to more than a wordpress blog control panel.

If they tried to switch hosts, and I refused to let them, because I controlled the name servers that the domain is linked to, would it be legal?

Claiming to sell something to someone that has a legal ownership, and than not passing over ownership when they are under the impression that they'll own it, yeah that's illegal.

Nothing a disclaimer cannot fix though.

Can you give me an example of a disclaimer that I should use?

Would I have to include that in the email, or could I put it on a terms of service page that I link to from my landing page (AKA the page that nobody ever reads).

Thats kinda low.. and can be considered fraud since they are not getting what they are paying for. I ain't no lawyer though.

You can always use the word RENT, RENT domain and RENT server hosting or whatever

Therefore they will pay rent, not buy anything... it's like owning a house and renting it, the people living in it are paying for rent and they KNOW they this is not their house but yours.. they are just paying you for access to YOUR house

Write a 10 page TOS and include big words. The first page should include definitions such as who the seller, renter, etc is...and so forth. Second page should be all about not spamming things. You get the point, there's plenty of sites out there that stand as examples. Be redundant when defining things such as defining spam in any form such as text, images, video, etc. Then say something like, don't post harmful things on other sites in the form of text, images, video, etc. See where I'm getting at? It's almost confusing and oh so boring.
