I've been working in the OF industry as a chatter for three months, and before that, I worked as a Reddit poster for two months since I joined my boss in September. The pay is more than enough for me, but my boss only manages two models: one primary model earning an average of $22k per month and one secondary model earning around $8k per month. He handles all the Reddit posting himself and has only one VA for posting tasks. This setup has been the same since I joined, but with a different model whom he brought in November 2024, and I was hired as a chatter for that model. There's no sign of expansion, and I'm feeling stuck.
For the past three months (one model), I've been chatting 15-16 hours daily without a single day off. In this time, I've made around $10k working for him. However, I'm unsure what to do next. I feel like continuing this way until he fires me isn’t a secure long-term option, especially since he handles Reddit/traffic alone, making my role less stable.
I don't think I’ll find another job in this industry with the same pay (15% share). I even tried starting my own model. Thankfully, I didn’t make a loss or a profit — I earned $600 in a week. Out of that, I paid $183 to the model, $57 to a friend I hired as a chatter (I taught him since I didn’t have much time), and spent about $200 on Reddit accounts. Unfortunately, the same day a ban wave hit, banning all my accounts, so I had to rely on existing subscribers and limited traffic (about 10-15 subs per day from my personal Reddit account). The remaining amount I gave to the model, as OF has a 7-day withdrawal period, so I had to pay her again to cover that delay. I didn’t make any profit, but it was fine since I was just experimenting. I didn’t spend any money hiring the model since my boss was looking to sell her, so I decided to give it a shot for a week before we sold her.
Now, I'm considering a few options: Starting a Reddit farm, Launching my own model, Working as a VA in the OF industry again
Should I just keep working for him until the end comes, or maybe start something on the side? Leaving him seems foolish considering the pay I'm getting at this point. (im from 3rd world country so the pay is good for me)
