Digg banned me

Hi all, long term lurker
I have a problem with Digg , they seem to have banned my I.P address so bought the software "hide my Ip" but i still cant gain access to my account on Digg or sign up for a new one. Any advise would be brill............

Clear your cookies.

run CCleaner, get a NEW account. and prolly a new domain. ive had domains banned before.

I downloaded ccleaner and cleared my cookies but still get the same error message since digg banned my ip even though I'm hidding my ip, here it is:
"An unknown fatal exception has occurred
Whoa! Something blew up. If you think you reached this error in error please do not hesitate to contact support. "

Maybe a problem with my pc and time to get a mac?

digg banned me a couple of times till i gave up! i only use it to get links...

I was banned as well and yes they block IP's.
(guess I became to popular there with so many friends in a short time)

Clearing cookies and stuff don't work.

Just go to Digg through a proxy and voila...there's the signup page again.

Maybe hidemyass has a problem .. and those proxies are banned too. Try using another proxy website

The proxies won't help.
You need to change your MAC address (from your network card).
I know it from a guy that was in the same situation and nothing else helped (including getting a new ISP).

The MAC address doesn't travel on the Internet, its used only on level 2 communications.

Same thing happened to me with no prewarning or reason. At the time, I wasn't doing anything unethical or illegal, in other words nothing that should have gotten me banned.

I went to work and signed up for a new account, got right in and used it for awhile. I didn't post anything from any of my other sites that was previously posted. I came home and tried to sign in with the new account and nothing.

It definitely is an IP blocking issue from what I can tell. Just be careful because if you start posting things from the same sites as your other account, you might raise the red flag and get your new IP and account banned also.

Thanks for all your replies and here follows an update.

I installed Hide my mac address and used this with hide my i.p address. I signed up for a new account and got back into Digg , I was very happy that i could now digg a few sites. I dugg one and was banned again. Shucks , what are they using to detect me?

Surely they cant be using any sites I dugg in my old banned accounts as thats a little unfair to sites like for instance the bbcnews not being allowed any diggs due to someone getting banned who dugg thier site?
