Avoid Scams on Telegram and Communicate Securely on BHW

Due to the increasing number of scams via Telegram, I would like to write the following:

Unfortunately, Telegram has long been a 'tool' used by fraudsters to carry out 'their work' because they have this bad function where at any time someone can delete the chat and you will be left without what you paid for and without proof [for a later Dispute Resolution case].

That's why I'm asking you to do all communication exclusively through BHW!

In case you have to go to Telegram, keep in mind that at any moment anyone can delete everything, record your conversations, and take pictures if necessary of every message you send or receive, so you have all the proof.

One more very important thing, if someone contacts you through BHW and offers you their services, don't buy!

ALWAYS REPORT SUCH CASES!

First, you didn't ask for someone to contact you, the first red light should turn on in your head that something is wrong.

Second, it tries to take you to Telegram, another red light.

The third thing, why would anyone promote their products if you did not ask for them?

Please, stay safe and be careful, be careful who you work with, be careful who you send money to, and of course, be careful what and how you do on Telegram because it has become a paradise for scammers!

Of course, here I am referring exclusively to members who do not have a paid membership.

Have a great day and once again... Stay safe!
Sticking to BHW for communication definitely seems like the safer bet. really appreciate the tips about being cautious of unsolicited offers—solid advice for staying cautious online. Definitely reporting any shady approaches from non-paid members too.

Actually nice post. Telegram’s chat deletion feature makes it a scammer’s paradise and there are many buyers who have learned this the hard way. One of my friend almost lost $5000 to a slick operator who vanished without a trace.

In times and lessons learnt from these situations , its better to stick to BHW for communication, legit the safest way to go. If someone hits you up unknowingly and nudges you to Telegram, report them—it’s a subtle red flag

This post should be highlighted with a different colour if possible in the list of sticky threads so it catches more attention. It can then save even more newbies from possible scams and scamsters/ scammers.

Hope this suggestion makes sense.

Exactly, I have caught myself 100 times when someone tells me something that I already know, only to help me realize at that moment some of my mistakes.

Yes, everyone knows about this, but as you wrote, sometimes it is necessary for someone to write or say it.
Absolutely. And while it's obvious that Telegram should raise a flag in that context, I probably wouldn't have thought of it without reading this...

May I ask why is this different for members with a paid membership?

Hi @Sheila_a

Can you please be more specific?
Ah, sorry. You wrote above in your advice "Of course, here I am referring exclusively to members who do not have a paid membership." It's this sentence I was referring to as I would assume, the advice works for them, too? Or is there some sort of safety structure one has access to, once a paying member?

Yes, it applies to everyone.

Every member should use the BHW inbox system because if a scam ever happens, everyone is protected, and there’s no way for anyone to twist or hide the real conversation that took place there.

What happens on other platforms, unfortunately, is outside our control, and we can’t see it, nor can we stop someone.

So I’ll say it again: Use the BHW inbox system. Protect yourself. Don’t buy from non-upgraded members. Report them immediately. And make sure to read the Newbie Guide, there’s a lot to learn there that can really help.

Thank You for the post. I haven't been here long enough to actually making deals yet but it's good to know to be cautious and know how to deal with Scammers using those methods.

i completely agree that tools like Telegram, meant for free communication, can be used for scams when trust is abused. It highlights the need for balance between openness and caution online.

A careful but open approach, with better platform protections, could keep us safe without blocking good opportunities. Be cautious, but don’t let fear stop progressI

on the one hand, this is what makes telegram attractive, that there is at least some freedom in comparison with other messengers, that is why it is popular, among other things, on the other hand, this of course attracts scammers(

Thank you so much

What’sApp should be mentioned as well. They will call you day and night absolutely harassing you. It’s best to just use the BHW messaging to keep it all under the BHW Mod umbrella

Thanks for this useful information.

Would it be possible for BHW to set up a payment gateway and mediate the payment via an escrow like upwork or other sites - and take a commission for providing a safety net (maybe 10-20%)?

Right now, as a mainstream newbie, BHW is a wonderful resource full of amazing offers and experts in multiple niches, but it feels a bit like a dark alley ( a bit intimidating until you get used to it, I guess)

I’ve been scammed thrice in 1 week ( 1 account’s banned already, 1 got a refund via PayPal, and I’ll file a report if I don’t hear back from another this week).

As new users, I think many newbies would be okay with paying a premium for some sense of security - at least until they understand how it works.

Of course, the escrow service could be an option if you’d like, instead of mandatory. Maybe that way, more people would stay here instead of taking it to other chat apps.
What type of services are getting scammed by?

Just bumping this as it helps our members......

very underrated post that deserves alot of attention. i'm a new member and i'd hate to trial and error the HARD WAY getting burned before learning the scamming methods. How do you guys build enough trust in BHW pm's with a seller? for example, green flags that are good for trust with sellers and red flags to watch out with sellers for new people
