So i had 25 keywords ranking on page 1 of Yahoo in the #1 position for over 6 months for a particular keyword.

All of a sudden, over the past month, i have dropped to position #48 and above, #48 being the best. Yahoo must have made some massive changes. Did they follow Googles (redhat armies) style of canning sites for some reason?

I have over 297 links to the website, the ones i can see and all pages on the site are PR3. So whats the problem?

Has anyone else noticed a drop in Yahoo like this?

Your competitor may optimize their website and compete you?

Huh? Its highly unlikely that 48 pages of sites all of a sudden optimized their pages to get above my listing. Its got to be an algorithm update as stated by poster 2.

I usually don't pay much attention to little Y, but the SERP checker that I use also shows Y results and I've noticed that my sites that are optimized for page one on big G have also been climbing.

One other strange thing that I've noticed with a new site that I'm pushing is the (Y dance?). Usually once a page ranks on Y it does not shift much. However, this one was supposedly sandboxed in Y for 2 days then it came back to a lower spot. Looks very similar to G.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Y, because it looks like they're trying to recapture some of their lost market.

Its almost like yahoo is a step behind google. I have some brand new almost bare sites that would have ranked 1st page top 3 or so in the old pre may google searches, and while they are 2nd page and back in google, they are all top 3 in yahoo.
