Good day!

I don't know if this would work out well or not, and not looking forward to put effort into it to get nothing at all in return.
I read many posts about content translation and foreign language seo, and for my own good luck I'm from a non-english speaking country, and can write well in my own language -avg writer, much better than most uni grades-, besides my good command of english.

I'm a coder, and have some serious skills in scraping and automation. Now I've this idea which I'm hesitant about starting or not.
First, I can gather few authority/big sites in different niches, stuff that's trendy and viral in my language, and even evergreen niches, chances are great since many big niches serps are a huge mess and full of spam in my language or full of stuff I know well I can make better content. I can use my coding skills to pipeline scraping and translating articles from said websites to my language, can use a bit of Ai work to combine different sources into one single good article. I'll be saving these generated articles alongside the originals for now.
Second, I think of creating 5 blogs to start with, each of them is in its own niche and all blogs are totally separate from each other. I think of ranking them and earning mainly from ad revenue, and also see any offers or affiliate chances to add to the sauce.
Finally, I'll go through the saved articles, review and edit manually to make them of very high quality, create couple images for each article, and feed them to my script/tool to publish or schedule for later.

It could take me few days to write scripts, and prepare the pipeline to be up and working with little handwork from my side (only the article editing which I prefer to be done manually to make sure of the content quality). I think of 20 daily articles (4 articles*5 blogs) and that would take me no more than 2-3 hours of work (incl. image creation), and nearly no additional maintenance would be needed. Total costs would be the hosting fees of the 5 blogs, mostly I'll use wordpress and basic themes, will only pay attention to onsite seo and general look to be okay.

Given that I'm broke atm and looking for returns on the short run (in couple months maybe), Is it worth it going on with this setup? For the long run, does this sound like something that would make good $$ over the next few months/year?

It works, if done right,
The best case scenario if to double check the translations and make sure they're not messed up (or use VAs or AI for that),
And you'll need to invest into the website(s) for both the overall on-page and most importantly off-page, you need authority to rank,

Basically, you want to end up with genuinely looking websites with decent link profiles that you can compete with,
Don't expect to spam the hell out of a bunch of new websites and bank overnight, keep it slow, make sure the content is suitable for users, so is the website,
And take care of the website(s) pretty much as you would do for any other genuine website,

Coding-wise, it's pretty easy, there are ready modules for Python to make it work,
Or you can use WP Automatic WP plugin, it works both with Deepl and Google translate

Thanks for your reply and thoughts here.
- I look forward to make the websites look and feel genuine, do all the required on-page stuff.
- Won't be spamming content around and that's it, would put the content and overall site quality the best possible.
- I don't have a good budget at hand to hit that, so I don't think I'll be doing much link building and off-page, at least at the beginning. Instead, I know off some good websites where I can share blog replies and comments, have some friends with big social media account how will be happy to help sharing my links on their pages given that the content is really purposeful.
- Coding-wise, it's nothing crazy, and I guess I'll be building my script and not use any standing tool/plugin. Target here is automating the whole process so the only work I do by hand will be reviewing and editing the translated content (which I can easily manage myself and won't be taking me much time or effort).

Does it still sound good given the budget constraints and the way I seem to be following? Does it sound like I'll be doing it right?

It will work if you're doing everything as you're stating,
Better off if you can find some easy niches/keywords to start with as you won't be investing in links,
Social media links won't matter as much, but it could be used as a source of main/additional traffic,
Traffic with good UX signals could make u rank as well, it's one of the 'main' factors I would say for the current SEO

I already have researched 2 different niches in my language and came up with enough for a good starting point. Might try my luck with harder niches too since content will be fresh and unique enough to give it a shot for my locale.
Good UX + Social signals/traffic + consistent updates and fresh content = I hope $$$ :)

The idea is good, but 20 articles per day is too much, Google is too sensible nowadays and they can flag your website as spammy. If they do so, you would waste your time and the articles would be deindexed.

It seems like a good idea, and I also thought something similar. I tried automating, but I am kinda stuck with some issues that cannot be solved. So, I need to think of an alternative.

About your idea, I think you should definitely pursue it. You have a chance to bank, and even if you don't, you will learn a lot from this. :) Good luck.

20 across 5 websites, 4 daily articles each.. does this sound as much? would google count this as spam? given that some of the content might be news-like?

What was it that got you stuck? if you were going for something similar and hit dead ends, enlighten me, and maybe we can find a way around?

Those numbers sound fine to me - I suspect the previous poster doesn't know what they're talking about. I certainly do a hell of a lot more than 20 articles per day!

Your plan is solid, especially with your coding and language skills, but short-term returns might be tough.

I've never seen a translator that translates perfectly, picking up the grammar and language nuances. In your attempt at automation, you may end up with poorly translated articles.

I thought so too but it's been some time I'm away from SEO and blogging so was a bit weary.

looking more for short-term growth. If there's growth, returns will come eventually.

Yeah, and that's why I'll be reviewing and editing all the translations by hand, that's the only thing I'm looking forward to not do myself. I'll be translating to my mother tongue, I have good writing skills that will help me do this in few minutes for each article, and will utilize it the best I can.

Anyway Thanks all for your input and feedback :) I'll start working on this in the next few days, do the coding part, and warming with just couple websites to start with and see where it goes. Will be starting a journey thread later I guess. See you around!

If you want quick results, better start using parasites.

I'd look into some parasites, maybe few backlinks, but early on I'll stick to just adding content until I've good number of articles up and some pages indexed before any backlinking.
