Is YouTube fair to creators ?

I have seen stupid content like car reveal and then dozens of videos centred around that car driving thousands of views. While in dept videos explaining features of car or the pros and cons of car gets no views . Is YouTube fair to good content on YouTube ?
I have the same question — how do some unnecessary videos get lots of views, while many important ones get very few?

Youtube its like part "SEO", part their algo pushing to similar people feeds and another undiclosed factor of "share"/have a look/mouth to mouth propaganda.

There was this backpack boy dancer, Rihanna or some such linked to one of his vids and he gained 40k views or followers in a day, I forgot.

Sadly "if it bleeds, it leads".
Content creators have learned how to manipulate the negativity bias, via rage bait and sad bait, etc.
And the algorithms reward them for it.

YouTube's algorithm prioritizes content that drives engagement, often favoring eye-catching or trendy topics. In-depth content may need better titles, thumbnails, or SEO to compete for visibility.

From a physiology standpoint, it's all about the dopamine rush, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward.

You see a video that has a shock factor, is funny, or is novel, your brain releases this. Because the feeling is addictive, you crave more of it. And because youtube 's algorithm is geared towards maximising user engagement, it makes you see more and more of this.

In contrast, the high quality, detailed videos will be deemed as "boring", will not induce the dopamine rush, hence will not engage the users.

There are some exceptions. Like MR beast. He makes long videos still great engagement. But no one can copy him because he has huge budget

it’s not always about fairness, it’s about what grabs attention fast. short, visual content like car reveals trigger curiosity and quick clicks. in-depth vids still have value, but they need strong hooks too. mix both if possible for best reach.

Do what people like to see. Most of the people are on YT for entertaintment so give them their daily dose and enjoy the money.

YouTube is only going to promote videos that the respond well with majority of viewers, doesn't matter if the content is not as high or hard to make like other channels, it all depends on trends, what do people like to watch because obviously more views means more potential to earn the cpm of these videos.

YouTube’s algorithm prioritizes engagement over fairness,it rewards content based on metrics like watch time,click-through rate, and viewer retention, not on quality or effort.A flashy car reveal can outperform a well-researched review if it grabs attention faster,to succeed, package your content strategically with compelling thumbnails, titles, and intros to hook viewers quickly,or risk being overlooked
