It's a lot of work but you can find/connect with people working on similar niche on social media and then approach them about your website and possibility of link exchange or a promotion. There's also niche subs in reddit and lemmy you can post to if you have good content.

i recently came across an interesting trick that sits right on the edge between content marketing and backlink building:
1. find long-tail keywords relevant to your niche that journalists might be searching for (this is the hardest part). think stats, trends, or data-heavy topics they’d want to cite.
2. write an article and create an infographic around that topic, publish it on your site.
3. run google ads targeting those keywords and drive traffic to your article.
4. get backlinks from media outlets that pick up your piece as a source.
haven’t tried it myself yet, but it sounds pretty smart

There are many important factors in Google's ranking algorithm, but if you are a beginner, it's best to start by focusing on keyword targeting and choosing the right niche. Once you understand those, the other parts of SEO will become easier to learn and implement over time.

Keyword research helps in finding long tail keywords with little competition. You should also manually check for low authority sites that are ranking and steal their high traffic keywords.

There's some great advice in this thread already. The one thing I'd add is to not just create random articles based on keywords. You need a structure.
The easiest way to do this is with a "hub and spoke" model.
Hub Page: "The Ultimate Guide to Brewing Coffee at Home"
Spoke Pages: "best coffee grinder for french press," "how to clean your coffee machine," "what is the ideal water temperature for coffee."
Then, you link all of your spoke pages back to your main hub page.
This strategy does two things: it provides amazing value for your readers, and it clearly shows Google that you are an authority on the entire topic of "brewing coffee," not just one keyword. It organizes your content marketing and makes your SEO efforts much more powerful.
