These avatars steal videos from real models and adult content creators, swap out their faces with AI-generated ones, and then monetize the content through links to dating sites, Patreon-style platforms, OnlyFans alternatives, and AI-driven apps. This trend, first reported by 404 Media in April 2024, has exploded since then. It raises serious questions about Instagram’s ability or willingness to control this kind of content. Meanwhile, human creators are speaking up, saying this unfair competition is hurting their income and visibility.

What do you think about this growing phenomenon? Is it clever hustle or crossing the line?

I've seen a couple AI model accounts on IG. Some users don't even know they're not real people. I think its a unique and clever hustle.

Adapt or die. Those influencers who relied solely on showing off their beautiful bods without much content are definitely the first ones to feel the impact of this. Honestly, AI has leveled the playing field so much that anyone with a bit of creativity and hustle can now compete with established influencers.

It is definitely a clever strategy. These high-quality deep fake videos on TikTok, Instagram, etc are cool as long as no scamming is done.

It's interesting but not so easy to implement, I haven’t found any good free method, all these guys on YouTube are offering paid methods and are affiliated with software !

Pictures / Videos? Almost anything you want instantly, poses, outfits, actions.

Messages? I mean hey at least the AI is the 'person' you're talking to.

And if your argument is that the girl is real, I highly doubt they are same as their picture, photo editing is a given nowadays.

All I can foresee is real girls doing weirder and more depraved actions as time goes on, making it a never ending arms race against AI:

Girl creates content > AI learns to generate same content > Girl has to create new content

The issue with AI in this domain may not only be technological but also psychological: why choose an AI over a real person, if not for some form of emotional disconnection or a quest for instant gratification? It raises questions about what people are truly seeking, and about the social and psychological consequences this evolution could have. That doesn't answer my question: how do I create this virtual girl for $0 ?

I built one of these early 2023 back when stable diffusion was the main method for this, i made like $400 but mostly from doing custom orders, then i got shadow banned because i guess my thirsty traps pushed it a little too hard. Oh well. I think the tech to do it is here now and if I had the time I would do it with the easier methods now.

Something that pays with crypto or... handling VAT for use would be cool.
OF handle VAT, so no complicated billing. But Fanvue? Good luck calculating VAT with few hundreds micro transactions

It seems like a nice idea to play around with it for anyone who has extra time in their hands. The best way might be to sell affiliate links with them or drive traffic to a page but my worry is in the future most platforms might or will definitely frown on them to protect human creators.
