Facebook games

Explain more please.
I have gone off the idea of Iphone game reading most games have an 11 day exposure if good.

Xbox Playstation etc would be better I think if only I could find a bloomin publisher
I mean how do these people make money having FREE games online?

artixentertainment.com/

OK I have just read the fremium model free games get people to pay for special powers etc this means no limit to making money
Gettin a game up on FB is pretty easy if u know how to make a standard game and can do a bit of FBML

Zynga earned about 1 billion till now if I am right, search on google, lots of info there. What they do is they charge for virtual items. For example in farmville you can buy coins which give you special items. People go crazy! Zynga has a staff of 600+

They spent 2 million dollars to launch Farmville
I am obviously smaller bank.

I emailed about four social game with developer services and again as Iphone not one of them replied to me yet thats four days since I emailed.
My game is word and not too complicated making extra powers for that not a lot of things to add

Conscious you need to me a bit more innovative. Use some marketing ideas.

It's all about leverage and turning shit into sugar. Farmville spent 2 million? Great, that's 2 million you won't have to.

I don't know how FB games work quite yet. However, i'm guessing that if you're serious about launching a game then you should be leveraging the fact that if it's good, it will spread on it's own so you should begin by offering it for free. Then you should find a way of leveraging the fact that you have a game on thousands of people's facebook to make money. You can do this by building in offers to the games. EG Sign up to lovefilm get 50 coins to use in your game or something.

Type mario into facebook and checkout all the mario clones with simple adverts for better games above the fold.

They're leveraging the fact that people feel nostalgic about mario and will look for it, then enticing them with better games will convert as they quickly get bored.

I have just been quoted from $200,000 to a million dollars to make a Facebook game from a big company in USA
pretty ridiculous for the little man

You thought Bhatters were devious?
Take a read at the Facebook social gaming companies-

Just 2 years ago the same quote would have been between $2,000-10,000. It's all about supply and demand.

Just like the .com bust around 2000. There were web development companies charging $200,000 for simple HTML layouts. A good book to read on this is "F'd Company", A book about the .com busts. Perhaps not knowing, this book gives examples of how supply and demand works.

You notice they are doing same thing?
Affiliate offers ringtones etc?
Giving people powers etc if they fill in offer?

THis biz model is as devious as Swoopo

fb games miight suck, but they get traffic, and aint that what everyone on this site wants??? so let the haters hate, but i have a fb game that gets me a couple hundred hits a month, and if anything, this thread is inspiring me to make a couple more games. search "11 ball game" on the big G. im number 1 :)

I need to know how Bejeweled on Facebook makes money?
I guess its buying with cash for power ups or coins?
I have actually not played it or looked at it.

The reason is that I applied to a company that has a game development fund with one of my board games that I have been desperate to get made to a Facebook Iphone game etc etc.

And hopefully it will trasform my bank balance from very poor pauper to very rich

The cost of this of course is ridiculous I was quoted half a mill other day just to make game.

Hey people--

Did you know Google quietly invested between a hundred million and two hundred million dollars in Farmville?

Also that they are launching their own online game platform soon.

I have decided to invest some shares in China companies its gonna be BIG this online gaming.

Also I have emailed two companies that invest in online game ideas and I want to convert my board game to that and I post proof here in case they steal the idea.

And no it is NOT Xynga,Playfish or Gameloft and Gameloft are notorious for cloning popular games.
However Google are tech people and not creative types and so I wonder if they will pull it (THe new forthcoming Google games platform) off?
