So what's the backstory here? Why is there a Newfold boycott happening? I'm out of the loop on this one

Not using any of those services, unconsciously part of the boycott :D

Yeah I don't choose most of those either, but not for boycott, it's been years since I'd seen some of those brands

Network Solutions was the only registrar available back in the day before godaddy and others

Some people say they are pulling scams. But honestly, who isn't? GoDaddy is full of shit as well. Same as Namecheap. I remember when Namecheap basically locked me out of my account without any reason to prevent me to manually extend a very good domain. I think I even opened a thread about this on here a few years ago

Don't forget Namesilo, there is a recent bad thread about them on BHW too

Not surprised by some of the names on the list honestly
but didn't know they were owned by Newfold either
Barty tell OP
that he needs to be more specific

Funny I am seeing this I just had an argument with Bluehost when I saw my domain renewal written $800

They changed prices and packages without notice and are billing people crazy amounts

If your credit card is on that platform and auto-renew is activated, be ready for a surprise.

I have experience of working with NewFold Digital here in the UK on a consulting basis.

They have a significant amount of problems with workplace atmosphere / bullying and shady sales tactics.

They may well come under some legal concerns in the coming month & years.

I’ve never used them and plan to steer clear of them. I reviewed their renewal terms, and it reminds me of a hosting company on this forum (PowerUpHosting) that was acquired by a similar company (HostWinds). After the acquisition, they also raised their prices upon renewal. Eventually, I moved away from shared hosting and set up my own VPS.
Well, I would not use them if someone paid me to use them, a lot of shady overselling stuff thru the years, noob hosting.
Yep, their services are pretty poor, but their affiliate programs are actually quite good.
Then, What would be your recommended hosting service these days?
I prefer cloud hosting over these pricey resellers. They often deceive customers with steep renewal fees after the first year, charging excessively.

@bartosimpsonio, please share the list of domain registrars as well. I am curious and...lazy. :D
