Hi all, Prepared for a roasting here. But would be keen to know if anyone has any advice or thoughts on what I could/should have done and, if there are any useful approaches I can deploy for the future. So here goes, the story of the last month, Ill try and keep to a summary as to not deliver a dissertation as my first post.

- Around 30 days ago I created an Instagram account for a model, built following with content, and some limited ads c. 4.5k followers
->>> This account links off to premium content sites via Beacons
->>> Careful with content, suggestive yes but also within the guidelines (as far as I can tell, and checking with the in-app tools)
->>> Side point - growth better on TikTok almost at 10k but traffic from there is way less

- Started a second account as a backup, no ads on this one, just collabs and have grown by c. 650 followers in c.10 days
->>> Also included Beacons link and @ to main account

- Created third account, as my organic reach has dropped off massively and main account (and maybe second with shadow ban). So, I have tried to take this one really slow, setup 4 days ago, added no content, uploaded 9 posts today and almost instant email saying I was restricted from advertising (not even attempted that yet). No link to either account directly, and did not include the beacons link on this profile also. Obviously accessed via same device so they can naturally see that.

Part of the issue is to do with what on reflection was a stupid move, whereby I created a FB account for the model to try and detach all of the profiles from my personal Facebook (this was Saturday). Following this, ad accounts were banned due to "security reasons". I have been in touch with their support to try and see if I can negotiate out / around it... they were due to come back yesterday, chased today, asked same questions as before... still waiting.

Any thoughts on these elements, and happy to answer other qs...

- Shadowban - I read a lot about this from being temporary to perm... do I just need to find some patience and wait? Don't post, don't do anything on those accounts and try again in a few days/week and see what the organic reach is like?

- Blocking of accounts from advertising (even those that don't link off externally or to other accounts) - assume a symptom of the accounts being linked by same device logging in / IP address. Not going to start up a 4th at this stage, as assume the same thing will happen. I'll try with FB support and see what they say, if I can get a reply. Should I kill off any of the smaller accounts, wait before setting up again? Reason was to have a backup and way of still using the platform as Insta is best for traffic.

In other news, as mentioned growth on TikTok (although much stricter on content guidelines) has been massive. But, with that platform it isn't really about followers, it is about virality so it is kinda redundant. But, that said - interesting to see how quickly those accounts can scale. Linking off from TT is also much harder and they block certain sites with their browser... which adds a massive barrier.

Shadowbans usually lift after some time, so maybe pause posting for a bit and see if reach improves. The ad restrictions are likely due to linked accounts on the same device/IP, so a fresh setup might be needed. TikTok growth is great, but yeah, linking out is a challenge.

Thanks for this. By fresh setup do you mean, setup new accounts, new IP, new device (or cleaned) to have best chance of success?

exactly, A fresh setup would mean new accounts, a different IP, and either a new or properly cleaned device to avoid any tracking issues. Have you tried using residential proxies or a separate phone just for this?

Not yet, but natural next step as you said. Was looking at getting another device, but also searching for iOS / Android emulators to see if I could run on a Mac, instead of needing another device. However, none of the ones I have looked at seem to do the job and quite mixed in terms of stability.

New/clean device, and was then thinking run off 4G/5G so totally separate IP and not connect to WIFI.

Emulators can be hit or miss, so a separate phone with 4G/5G might be the safer bet to keep things clean. If you do try emulators, test a few to see which ones work best. Keep us posted on how it goes
