I’m attending an offline event to promote my eCommerce brand but unsure which approach is better:

1) Set up a stall as a brand: I can sell my products and get visibility but will be stuck at one place.
2) Attend as an individual: I can move around, network, and create content, but won’t have a dedicated sales spot.

Not 100% Sure but, I’m considering skipping the stall and instead focusing on networking....talking to as many people as possible, recording interactions (with permission), and posting them on IG.

Would love to hear your thoughts?

Both approaches have their pros and cons, but if your goal is long-term brand awareness and engagement, focusing on networking and content creation might be the smarter move. Setting up a stall gives you immediate visibility and direct sales, but it also limits mobility and personal interactions.

By attending as an individual, you can engage with a wider audience, build relationships, and generate content for IG, which can have a much longer reach beyond just the event attendees. If possible, you could combine both: have a small booth while also walking around to connect with people and create content.

It really depends on whether you're looking for short-term sales or long-term brand awareness. If you already have an online presence, leveraging networking and content might yield better results.

both?
is it possible?
do you have someone who can manage the stall as a brand for you?

Actually, I can’t. I don’t have anyone who could confidently answer the questions, and if someone tries but fails, it would leave a bad impression. So, I have to be the face of the brand.

if you hire a busty girl to present your products, any approach is 90% more likely to work
people might just remember the girl and forget the products :D

Ok, make sense
stall wise, is it prime location?

The event will be 11 hours long with nearly 2000 attendees. I'm currently thinking about content creation.....asking 3-4 quick questions, then cropping each into separate reels. If I manage to talk to 50 people, that’s 150 reels of content.

On the other hand, having a stall would boost sales and increase brand awareness among potential customers.

I can’t do both, so I have to choose one.

The stall isn’t in a prime location since all of them are already booked, and they’re too expensive for me right now.

Then i wouldn't bother with the stall.
Make contacts and focus on building relationships instead.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I wanted to get others opinions on it. I also feel that the networking and content I can create from the event might be more valuable in the long run than just sales.

with 2,000 attendees, I'm going assume there are probably stalls in the hundreds. Big and/or small.
even with that many attendees, not all will attend stall on the side hence why a prime stall location would be much more ideal.
but a stall needs presentation, it needs to catch the audience attention, and it needs to leave a lasting (positive) impression. While all still letting the viewers know about your brand (& services).
But a non-prime location stall isn't bad, that sadly, it can also leave some negative first thoughts as well such as
- Not organized/mismanagement
- Not enough $ to get prime
People are quick to label and judge everything before they give anyone a chance.
That's why, instead, I would opt in with the free-roam instead and make connections.

my thoughts anyways with the limited info I provided here.

Great insights @xReminisce :)

I was also considering giving away free products to anyone willing to participate in a short interview, but I’m unsure if the event team would allow it.

I don't want to get kicked out :D

If you can't do both, make a T-shirt with your e-commerce logo or website, then roam around the event and make connections.

Or, if you can hire someone who can communicate confidently for your stall, that would be a plus point.

Have a stall with an attractive, positive, big smile girl amd you can go around amd do networkimg. Maybe have a t shirt with you bramd.

Find a game or something related to ypur brand that can be played with other people to create raport fast. Something easy and engaging, maybe a riddle etc. And smile! A lot.

Depends on the budget and your stage of your biz, as well as the exclusivity of this offline event. If it’s a fair, only once a year and you have the marketing budget - go for #1 ; QR codes, and some goodies are always good if they are branded. Even if it’s a gift bag.
I had a similar situation a few years ago, decided for the first approach and walked a bit around close to the stall. It’s definitely good for your brand instead of just walking around.
