Good old days, i use to replace google adsense ads with my own ads, I had an extension with 50k users then i injected my ad code which will replace any adsense ad with mine.

Earlier adsense needed only 1 domain to be approved then user can add ads on any domain but then they changed their rules( every domain should be manually approved by them) so ads stopped showing. Most of the clicks use to come from facebook. Also rules with chrome extensions where not much.
