Don't Dream Big. Dream in Sequence.

I started my journey dreaming big, always dreaming big. I never seen myself playing it small. As I continue to grow, I learn new things about life AND about myself.
One of the things that popped into my mind this morning as I started my day was to stop dreaming big and dream in sequence.

What does this mean?

It means have a goal, now your goal but dream that goal into reality one step at a time.

As the old saying goes - "The only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time."

So true. I am in the same boat. Procrastination kills time. Time that we can never get back.

I agree with you. When a person is between the ages of 18-25, they feel their dreams intensely and want them to come true immediately, but as in the elephant example you gave, stability requires determination and effort.

Procrastination becomes way less of an enemy if you break up tasks.

Instead of having a big task as a goal, break that task up into a load of super small tasks. Go as SMALL as you can.
For Example: Instead of "write paper," you can put "brainstorm title," "write title," "edit table of contents," "write a starting sentence for each section," etc. etc.

This way the task becomes waaay more rewarding and you will always find a couple minutes to start chipping away at that big rock. Before you know it, it's done.
When I see a huge task or something important, I shy away if it's something that might take multiple hours, till I really HAVE to do it.
This method allows me to always be able to do work bit by bit without feeling overwhelmed.

This. Having a smaller task reduces resistance to starting. And once you start - you want to continue.

It's definitely important to dream big, but breaking those dreams down into manageable steps makes them much more achievable. Dividing goals into smaller pieces is really motivating as you can see your progress. The saying about eating an elephant one bite at a time is so true! Once you take that first step, everything gets easier. Best of luck on your journey toward your goals!
