People think that all these sites are now scams because the previous ones or many of them were giant scams and took millions of dollars from many people including them or people they know so it is more difficult to attract users now.

Possibly, but you have to consider if it's personally worth doing for your case. And like I said, it doesn't guarantee complete protection from being flagged as a spammer, just that it gives you more breathing room and space for increased activity or post volume.
