Do CAPTCHAs Mean Bad Proxy?

Hello, I've used a few mobile proxies and noticed that in many cases, when visiting any website, I get "Forbidden" and when trying to search anything on Google, I have to solve a CAPTCHA. I assume this means the proxy is bad and I need to try something else? FWIW, I can login to Reddit, but my accounts almost always get shadowbanned after the first comment in a small subreddit.

Are you using shared proxy? usualy mobile proxy are good quality and should not request you to solve captchas.

Captcha doesn't mean always bad proxy. If you are using the same proxy for multiple activities ( example multi thread ), even if rotate but using the same IP for multiple thread can happen that you need to solve the captcha. But rest assured that sometimes captcha appears also for real human, it's just a security check. Solving it and no problem.

Tipically, mobile proxies have an high score in terms of fraud proxy, like 90/100 minimum, so it's not a problem if captcha appears or not.

That makes sense. I'm using SmartProxy and have tried MarsProxies but always get captchas and websites block me with a Forbidden error. Wondering if those would be good enough for Reddit? I'm working on my account warming process but it seems that it's very difficult and I always get shadowbanned

captcha does not mean bad proxies could be because the IP is suspicious, some sites count the ammount of clicks and if they see to many clicks in certain period of time could trigger a warning for a posible bot, when a new IP is detected from a location they got previously botted as a trigger to avoid multiple bots on the website, because you spend too much time on a website you active or loggin session, as a random human check, because your network traffic looks unnusual and this is because all the previous one and the most important one some sites set a automatic captcha puzzle depending in how much time you being in the site for everyone that is active not only you as a random verification to always stop bots, clean cache, dns, if you have windows also clean the winsat from the console, change your schedules well is reddit so this one is a no but smal sites can easily detect the time they always got botted so they set automatic rules or someone is in the night shift making sure everything is working fine on the website.

A proxy is only one part of the equation, if you are using Selenium you will get captcha and at time will be impossible to pass it regardless of your proxy. Try to find a provider that sells virgin proxies that have never been used before just to be sure

If you are using automation ( like selenium or any other ), as already told by other comments, most probably the trigger event is the automation and not the IP itself.

CAPTCHAs are not always caused by a "bad proxy." A mobile proxy requires a proper setup and natural usage behavior. First, check your setup, including the mobile proxy and an anti-detect browser, and verify whether the proxy is detected by a proxy checker.

Next, focus on mimicking natural user behavior, such as organic scrolling and searching. This can significantly reduce CAPTCHA triggers. Additionally, there are automated CAPTCHA-solving plugins and solutions that can further help bypass these challenges.
